When two verbs come together in French, the second must always be in the infinitive. This rule also applies in English, but we usually don't realise it.
Example, I wanted to go. In this case, I wanted is the first Verb and to go is the second in the infinitive.
Examples in French:
Je veux faire un gateau- I want to make a cake
J'aime manger- I like to eat/ I like eating
J'adore aller dehors, surtout quand il pleut- I love to go/ going outside especially when it's raining
