Chapter Thirteen

I felt myself being pulled into someone’s arms and I recognized the cologne.

“Are you ok, baby?” asked Elliot.

I snuggled deeper. “Yeah I’m fine.”

“What the hell is going on?” I squeezed my eyes shut before opening them again.

Pulling out of Elliot’s arms and turning around to face Mr Kentwood. I no longer was afraid of the man, he no longer has power over me anymore, he cannot run to my father all he was, was a frail old man.

“Shove off old man, it has nothing to do with you.” I said and stormed off into the leaving them all standing the dumbfounded.

“Ari, that was awesome you should have seen his face.” Stacy said laughing.

Everyone walked into the living room and sat down. I was glaring at the floor feeling all of their gazes on me.

“Spit it out.” I sighed.

“Why the hell would you go out there like that Ari, do you know how stupid and reckless that was.” Joe said.

I felt Elliot arm snake round my waist and I relaxed and instantly felt better.

“Look I’m sorry I know it was a really stupid thing to do but I’m just so sick of it at the moment and they have been following me everywhere. I’m sorry but how do you expect me to feel.” I said feeling my eyes sting with unshed tears, I held them back.

“What Ari done was stupid but maybe we should lay off her for now and we should all get some sleep we have school tomorrow.” Elliot said. I sighed with relief and squeezed his hand in gratitude.

Once I was freshly showered and in my pj’s I walked through into my bedroom.

“Hey are you sure you’re alright?” Elliot said laying in my bed.

We had both agreed for him to sleep with me.

“Yeah I’m fine I just want this over and then graduate so I can be with you and won’t have to worry about anything.” I said.

“Until that day comes we have to keep it a secret. I love you.” He whispered the last part as I closed my eyes drifting off into a deep dreamless sleep.  

I was running late everyone had gone to school expect Joe who was watching me amused as I scrambled my way around the kitchen.

“Bye Joe see you tonight.” I called running out of the room.

“Ok make sure you have your phone on you at all times and be careful we are giving you a little more freedom for your sake. I just don't want anything to happen to you.” He called as I stepped out of the door and ran to my car.

I sighed as I heard the engine rumble to life.

“Oh I have missed you.”

 I ran into Elliot’s room five minutes late out of breath. I looked up the whole of my homeroom class were staring at me.

I blushed and looked towards Elliot.

“Sorry I’m late sir, I- um... had car troubles.” I said.

“It’s alright just make sure it doesn’t happen again.” He smiled.

I breathed a sigh of relief, I returned the smile and made my way over to Jake.

“Car troubles my ass.” Jake mumbled.

When lunch arrived I couldn’t be happier. I grabbed a sandwich and made my way over to Jake and Stacy.

“Hey.” I said and received a hey back.

“So everything ok?” Stacy asked.

“Yep.” I said popping the ‘p’

“That’s my girl.” Jake said making us laugh.

I had a strange feeling someone was watching me so I looked around the canteen. I stopped and zeroed in on Chris and Candy by the door glaring at me. Candy whispered something and they left. I couldn’t be more confused if I tried, Yeah I get Candy would hate me and maybe Chris but I haven’t had any problems with them for two months. It got me thinking.

They wouldn’t plan anything, right?

I mentally shook my head thinking how stupid I was being.

But I couldn’t stop the nagging in the back of my head.

Its really short i know, its kind of just a filer but I need to have more action of Ari in school before things start to unfold and more unteresting stuff to happen with Ari and Mr Gold/Elliot.
