"They were trying to kidnap Rayle and I " Trenton stated looking down at the ground his fist clenched. I could tell he was disappointed and angry with himself for not being able to protect Rayle.

"Darling...They are trained assassins, you are still a child my dear and until you grow into the strong kind male I know you shall be. I will protect you just as fiercely as I protect my beloved neice." I stated kissing his forehead pulling him into my arms offering him the comfort I knew he needed.

I was so engrossed in comforting the children that ruffling of leaves behind me caught me off guard turning around just in time I managed to catch the end of a vervain coded whip before it could hit either child. I hissed out in pain wrapping the whip around my arm and pulling on it to reel in my attacker. Our assalin was a female who most likely did not take into consideration that I would willingly cause myself pain and use the whip against her to drag her out if the shadows. I took her carelessness as an opportunity to flash behind her and wrapped the vervain coded whip around her neck. Another traitor came at me reeking of desperately a dagger in his hand. Instead of attacking me he tried to cut the whip and release the female whom I presume was his fated female. I kicked the dagger out of his hand and wrapped my legs around his neck. Balancing my self in the air using there two body's shifting my weight I brought my left elbow down on the females shoulder and use the momentum to spin simultaneously ripping both their of there heads clean of there bodies. The whip fell out of my hand along with the females head leaving behind a bright red open flesh wound outlining where the whip had been wrapped around my arm with it the annoying burning sting of vervain preventing the wound from automatically healing.

I turned towards Rayle and Trenton to make sure they were safe and sound. Rayle was holding on to Trenton as if her life dependent on it. Their beloved Bond already developing even though they were still young and would not know they where fated to one another for years to come. Instinctively Rayle seeked out comfort and protection from Trenton.

I picked up the dagger I had kicked out of the traitors hand and handed it to Trenton. Knowing that his instincts where screaming at him to protect my niece. He took the dagger from me without any hesitation a look if determination in his hazel honey brown eyes.

"Stay behind me. Do not get involved that dagger is for protection only use the it. If I am not able to protect you two and they are coming directly at you.... the edge is coded in Vervain. Aim strait for the heart if it is out of your reach then just aim for any major organs" I ordered searching the two dead bodies for any weapons I could use to defend us against any other attacks. I found another three throwing daggers on the female and a folded up eclectic cane like stick on the male.

Taking a deep breath I closed my eyes trying to pick up any sign of the enemy whether it be a heart beat or a masked scent. Nothing. I couldn't let my guard down though no heart beat or attempted masked scent did not mean there where no more assalins. Traitors had infiltrated or had meirely disguised themselves as members of the Royal Guard, I had to be be on guard with that thought in mind I cautiously maneuvered us through the maze looking out for any signs of danger . We where at the edge of my maze a few feet away from the exit when a stray hand reached out to grab me. Acting instinctively I grabbed said hand using it to flip the offender flat on their back snapping the electric cane like stick in place and placing it on the offender's Adam's apple.
