Y/n's steps echoed in the long hall as she walked towards the great hall. It wasn't only her feet that clashed against the stony flooring, one of the soldiers ,Lance, was escorting her. Y/n couldn't help but to frown when she saw the amount of soldiers standing in the hallway. Usually it was only one soldier between each lit torch on the wall and one by each door. However now two soldiers stood between each lit torch and two soldiers stood by the main door to the great hall. Everyone with full armory.

The soldiers opened the door, only to reveal two more soldiers by the door on the other side. More soldiers was standing in the room by the walls as her father, the King, and Patric her fathers second in command over their army. Yet their presence wasn't the reason to her breath hitching in her throat; it was the foreign man standing infront of them. When she walked inside he had turned around and a smirk was soon present on his lips. His arms were chained behind his back, bald head, long scruffy beard but piercing blue eyes that sent chills down her back.

"Y/n, glad you could join us." Her father said as he smiled at her kindly. Y/n tried to breath again, this time with success, before walking up to her father but carefully keeping a distance to the scruffy man. "May I introduce you to our guest. Y/n this is Ragnar Lothbrok. Ragnar meet my daughter Y/n." Her father said and Y/n looked at Ragnar whose eyes hadn't left her since she entered the room. His eyes had roamed her body, dressed in a long pale blue dress as her long hair fell over her chest. Ragnar's tongue had stroked his bottom lip a few times. Y/n only gave him a nod which he returned.

"It's a pleasure to be meeting you princess." Ragnar said with an accent she never had heard before and smirked before looking at the King. "I don't see why we shouldn't come to an agreement." He continued and Y/n frowned as she looked at her father who avoided her eyes. The King cleared his throat as he looked at the ground. Y/n looked at Patric who gulped but looked her in the eyes.

"What agreement father?" Y/n asked with a frown. Her father took a step closer to her and took her hands in his large and rather warm ones.

"Ragnar and I have come to an agreement to secure the future of our Kingdom." Her father began and Y/n looked at him before looking behind him, meeting Patrics eyes once again. "We have decided to join our forces." Her father continued and Ragnar smirked.

"And you play a very important role in that." Ragnar spoke up with a smirk. One couldn't believe that he was chained, his disrespectful manners towards the princess, interrupting the King and his eyes that kept ogling the princess body. He acted like he held a sword to their throats.

"What important role father?" Y/n asked, trying to keep the confidence in her voice but she couldn't help but to feel worried. She knew what her father was willing to do for his kingdom, something she adored yet she didn't know about the limitless will to keep their kingdom safe, or himself safe.

"You will marry one of Ragnar's sons." Her father said and her eyes wide as she pulled her hands away from his fathers grip. The king kept a neutral face which agitated her. She looked at Ragnar who smirked.
