I wake up to the echoing sounds of a siren. Probably one in many one usually hears in the city. I sigh and sit up on my elbows blowing the one strand of hair that's seemed to hate me since I gave a fuck about appearance. I reach over to my phone clicking home. 2:39 a.m. I rub my eyes sliding out of bed taking a good minute to just take in all I would be facing later tomorrow. I needed to mentally prepare myself for what was to come. School's no joke I te-What's that? I listen for a bit and hear it again. I walk out my room into the hallway listening. I slowly open Zouls door to see her fast asleep. I close it and then ease my way to the front door. I slowly peek out the door and see the silhouette of a familiar figure. But then the shadow tumbles over, their heels clinging against the metal stairwell bars. I rush out making sure to keep the door opened slightly. I walk up a couple stairs and turn the corner first seeing a broken heel, then torn stockings followed a bruised and crying Daisy. I bend down next to her and reach for her arm before flinching when she turns around swinging her clutch,

"It's me. It's just me, Angel...I live in C remember?" I say looking into her face finally lit by the moonlight seeping through the window. She had a busted lip and a bloody nose. Tears streaming down her face I see her body slowly relax as she pulls down her dress.

"It's not what you think..." She says looking away from me as I get up and then reach down helping her to roll over and pick her up.

"You don't have to explain anything to me. If you don't want to talk about it that's fine, but the police must know."

"No they don't." Daisy says not even looking me in the face to see my disbelief. I shake my head and stand of front of her door. She manages to pull out her keys dropping her clutch, spilling all it's contents as I opened the door. She had done quite a bit. Photos of loved ones I assume on the wall, a plant next to the window and puppy. A cute little puppy who's fast asleep even with all the noise. In the dark I can't tell what it is, but I'm sure it's cute. I walk back past more packed things and into the room I think is the bedroom.

"No..this is the guestroom. Wrong room." She mumbles weakly pointing to the room across the hall. I nod and walk her over and sit her down.

"You need to report this." I say laying her back in bed scooting her feet after slipping off her red heels from under the silk white covers.

"Don't tell me what I need..Angel." Daisy said watching as she coughs then looks up to the ceiling,

"Just a bad day at the office." She says laughing as I stand up and look at her. She'd been raped  then beaten and all she has to say was it's a bad day at the office?

"Well fuck a 9 to 5 then." I say smirking a bit as I shake my head starting to leave.

"Thanks Angel..Forreal. You just met me yesterday and you're already cleaning my bloody wounds and babying be like a proper mama." She says chuckling again as I still look at her.

"I'm not your mama. And your lips gonna need stitches." I say starting to walk out and stop right before stepping out of the frame of the door,

"And you're welcome. See you around Daisy." As I walk out the door I hear laugh to her saying,

"Fuck a 9 to 5" before falling asleep I assume. I didn't wait around to really see. I didn't really wanna find out what kind of job meant being utilized as a tool for pleasure and a punching bag. I sneak back into the apartment and down to my room sliding under the covers. The light flips on and the covers rip off.

"Where'd you go?" Zouls says looking down at me with arms folded

"To help Daisy." I sigh pulling the cover back on to me.
