How do you win a man's heart?— Well, that was the question I couldn't stop asking myself for months. Whenever I sat in my room, quietly tapping the eraser of my pencil against the skin on my cheek while trying to focus on the paper that laid under my eyes, whenever I was buttoning up the fabric that pressed on my chest early in the morning, and even whenever I laid in bed at night, my mind drifting off to various different thoughts and feelings, even though I strongly urged to grab ahold of rest. And maybe you would wonder; why? Why would I want to win a man's heart?— Well, that's just it, because it wasn't just any man, you see. It was a specific man. A special man.
And his name, was Jeon Jungkook.
How would you explain Jeon Jungkook? Well, it was quite simple, really. Jeon Jungkook was handsome, charming, sexy— but yet cute at the same time. One moment, the younger boy would be gazing up with his beautiful, coffee colored eyes. They glistened gently, with a twinkle of sweet purity that made him look absolutely precious— in those moments, I found myself wanting to hold him close, and nibble against his soft skin. But yet, the next moment, he would be glaring sharply with a mischievous smirk pulling on the edge of his lips, almost like he was purposely teasing me— even though he barely even knew me. He really was the definition of a pretty boy— a perfect boy. In a way, he even looked like a prince. Everything about him was stunning; he was ethereal.
Sometimes I could barely tell if he was human or not.
Where should I begin? Well, I guess I could start by saying that he was tall. Fairly tall, really. Whenever I looked up at him, I couldn't help but to find myself smiling at the way that he seemed so charming, standing out handsomely from the crowd that filled the halls. He had broad, manly shoulders which connected to a beautiful, yet masculine neck. I couldn't bring myself to understand how, even though he was younger than me, his body seemed so much more mature. I felt bad for admitting it, but sometimes I just strongly wanted to cling onto him; to press my fingertips against his skin, just to understand what it was like to actually touch such a breathtaking being.
I felt uneasy at the way that I sounded, because I strongly wanted to make sure that I didn't come off as creepy to any of my friends. They understood the interest that I had in the man— he was beautiful, and his personality was absolutely breathtaking. I admired him, and part of me felt that it was unfair for someone so beautiful be off limits, that's all. But I suppose whenever you're attracted to someone, you feel the need to touch them. You would find the smallest excuses if you could, just to graze your skin across theirs— even if it was for just a moment. I guess that was what it was like for me, because I felt my fingertips tingling with the excited urge to touch the man; not in a weird, or uncomfortable way, but just to be close to him.
For months I had wondered about the man, the curiosity I felt towards him swarming in my mind constantly. I guess at first it was just a small interest. He seemed like he would be a funny person, and his presence seemed exciting and fun— he seemed like the kind of guy who wanted to make people laugh; and just that thought had a smile beginning to spread across my lips subconsciously, the giddy feeling in my stomach gnawing against me as my mind wandered. It wasn't a little crush, but more so a slight urge to get to know the man, simply for the fun of it. But as months passed, and as I had numerous accidental encounters with the younger, I found myself getting more and more excited at the simple thought of him.
He didn't just spark my interest at that point— he began to steal my attention.
Constantly.
And so, considering I couldn't bear to think of him without the knowledge of who he was, and what he was really like, I tried to interact with the boy. But on those occasions, it wasn't accidental. I started to try to go up to him. Whenever I had the chance, I would muster up the courage to see him.
But before doing so, I tried to understand; because that question was still gnawing on my mind—
How do you win a man's heart?
