The Unexpected
Chapter 1
My names Hayden and I'm 14 years old. I have long silky blonde hair, hazel eyes with a tint of blue, and my body shape is petite. I just moved in mid-June to New Jersey from Ohio. I live with my mother, Isabell, and my older brother, Eli.
My parent's got divorced when i was only three years old. I never see much of my father, Josh, since he still lives in Ohio, but when I do he takes my brother and I out fishing. It's always great to see my dad! Yet I still don't know the reason why my parent's got divorced. They always said I was to young to know the reason and that they would tell me when I reached the age of 18. Guess I have 4 more years to go!

I woke up at the crack of dawn to a ringing sound. I opened my eyes to see it was my alarm clock and I shut it off. I was very tired but I was excited to start my first day of high school. I got out of bed and walked straight to the bathroom to find the door locked. I knocked on the door but there was no answer. All I could hear was someone throwing up. My heart dropped, scared that it was happening again. Could it be happening again? Was it even possible to happen again? The doctor's said it was possible but I didn't think that it would ever happen again!
"Eli, are you there?" I asked.
All i heard was more throwing up and some crying too. I was getting really nervous now so I decided to go and wake up my mother. Today was her one day off from work and I wanted to let her sleep in. I felt bad for waking her up this early but I felt like I had no choice. I opened up her bedroom door and walked over to her bed. I slightly tapped her on the shoulder and said, "Mom, please wake up." Her eyes opened slowly but then she closed them again. "Mom", I said, "I need your help. I think Eli is sick again." By me saying that she jumped up from her bed and said, "Where is he?"
I replied saying, "In the bathroom. He's not answering my voice and I hear him throwing up. Mom I'm really scared," Suddenly I saw sadness in my mother's eyes as if she knew what was about to happen. There was sadness in my eyes too now, because I knew what was coming our way.
We both walked towards the bathroom door and my mother called out, "Eli honey, open the door please."
Suddenly the door swung open and I couldn't believe my eyes. My brother was sitting on the floor with blood everywhere. There was blood on the floor, in the toilet bowl, and dripping down his nose.My poor brother, why did this have to happen to him? What did he ever do wrong?
My mother whispered to me, "Call 911, tell them to send an ambulance immediately to our house."
I couldn't believe it. All there was left to do was listen to my mother and call 911. I didn't know if I should cry or not because I didn't want my mother or brother to see, but I felt so sad. I just wanted to go to my room, go back to sleep, and start this whole day over again when I was excited to go to school. Now I'm calling 911 to come help my sick brother.
Oh, just when my families life was getting back on track, my brother has to get sick again! I should've realized that he was getting sick by the amount of weight he lost! I thought it was because he was just getting older but I guess that wasn't it! So much for the first day of high school...
