Concept: The Marked

Concept: the marked
- Rare cases of children that have a condition that allows whatever is written on their skin to become reality.
- I.E. a quote that gives the power of o love. Or a phrase that gives strength. Or a depiction of something existing.
- Scientist still trying to figure out if it's a blessing or a curse.
- Main character, Billie is extremely rare. Like 1 in a billion rare. Because whatever is depicted on her skin not only happens to her but to the people closest to her.
- Her best friend Selena was there when she got her strength tattoo thus allowing her to inherit a portion of this power.
- Word seeps out that the marked exist and the world seems them dangerous.
- The marked also have the ability to manipulate the environment around them and bend reality to fit what is depicted on their skin.
- For example. Say Billie drew an explosion on her arm. Whatever is in front of her would manipulate its self into exploding
- However they cannot control the manipulation, so the explosion could end up killing everyone but Billie.
- It takes 4 hours for the marks to become permanent. After that everything's set in stone.
- Billie got kidnapped when she was younger by people who knew about her condition, and they deleted her father and brother from existence by simply drawing on her arm. Once the drawing was there the 2 men started to slowly die along with her kidnappers, because no one survives drawing on a Marked's skin without the same thing happening to them tenfold.
- Billie now lives with her grandmother
- Her mother committed suicide after she lost control over her skin.
- Being marked is hereditary by gender within families. So all of the women in Billies family are among the rare marked.
- Sometimes people who are marked lose control over their minds if they don't use their powers over a long period of time, her mother tried to run away apron this heritage and it, in turn, consumed her.
- Billies grandmother starts teaching her about her heritage before the world hears of the marked. Her grandmother has a mark that allows her to see the future. But it's an intricate carving that takes years to fully receive.
Idk it's kind of wonky at the moment but it's a work in progress I guess.
