Chapter Twenty Nine

(For any phone calls, the '...' is the other person over the phone talking if they are not given dialogue).

Vylad sat on the girl's couch, reading a book. He hums while turning the page, a smile on his face. He lightly jumps in surprise when his phone rings, making him loose his spot on the page. He takes out his phone, answering it. "Hello?" He says. A feminine voice can be heard. "Hey mom! How are you?... What- Mom, slow down. H-Huh? No, no, I'm not in town or anything ahaha..." He trails off, laughing nervously. "WHAT! HOW DID YOU FIND OUT!?" ...  "A selfie Garroth sent you? UGH, GARROTH!" ... "Mom, mom! Please, calm down. I'm a grown adult and I don't need anyone to help me out!" ... "Wait, you just want too-" ... "Huh? Zane?" ... "Yeah, he's fine. Why do you ask?" ... "What? A selfie of him and- OH! You must mean Rosy and Aphmau! Yeah, they've grown up a lot, haven't they? They're such sweethearts." ... "What? ROSY AND ZANE, DATING!? THEM? Mom, first off-" ... "No, mom, it's not what you think it is. They're just friends! Stop making assumptions about people's-" Vylad is cut off by crying. "Mom? Mom. Mommy, calm down. Don't cry, please." More crying can be heard. Vylad sighs. "Look, I'm sorry. I was just...jealous of there relationship. Zane and Rosy are indeed dating." High pitched squealing can be heard. "Yes mom, we all know you believe in Zane and that one day he would find love" ... "WAIT, WHAT?! MOM, YOU CAN'T COME INTO TOWN! NOT AFTER-" Silence. "Mom? MOM!?" Vylad pulls the phone away from his ear. "Oh shoot, my battery! Oh crud, oh crud! What have I done!? I HAVE TO CALL GARROTH AND ZANE!" He shouts. Vylad dashes over the couch and out the door, running across the street to Garroth's house. He runs up the steps and starts rapidly knocking on the door. Garroth opens the door. "GARROTH!" Vylad shouts. "Hey Vylad, you alright? You look a little pale and out of breath." Garroth says. "MY PHONE JUST DIED AND-" "Oh! You need a charger! Not to worry baby brother, I have an extra and-" "NO! IT'S NOT THAT!" Vylad shouts. "Geez Vylad, calm down. Don't get so worked up over a charger, I-" Garroth is cut off by his phone ringing. "Huh? Oh! It's mummy!" Garroth exclaims, a smile forming on his face. "GARROTH, NO!" Vylad shouts, but it's too late. Garroth picks up the phone. "Mummy! It's so good to hear from you! I-" ... "Huh? Vylad? He hung up on you!? Oh no, I don't think it was that. His phone just died and he's here getting a charger." ... "Mhm..Mhmm..oh. Right, that makes sense. He wanted to surprise you himself, I shouldn't of sent you that photo." ... "Zane? What about him?" ... "R-R-ROSY!?" ... "MUMMY, WHERE DID YOU HEAR THIS FROM!?" ... "VYLAD! I think you have your facts wrong. Mummy, Zane and Rosy are just very good friends, they're not dating." ... "OH YES, BECAUSE EVERYONE WHO TAKES A SELFIE TOGETHER IS OBVIOUSLY DATING." ... "NO I'M NOT JEALOUS! I just know they aren't dating!" Crying can be heard over the phone. "Mummy! Don't cry! PLEASE, YOU'RE GOING TO MAKE ME CRY!" Garroth says, tears already starting to well up. "Garroth, be strong!" Vylad whispers. "AHEM. Mummy, Zane and Rosy are dating. They love each other very much. Zane isn't a loser like VYLAD. Though he would be, hehehehe." Garroth says, giggling. High pitches squealing can once again be heard over the phone. "Garroth!" Vylad shouts. "Huh? COMING TO VISIT!? WAIT, ZANE AND ROSY ARE-" ... "Okay. Alright. I understand. I love you too mummy, see you soon." Garroth hangs up the phone, his face pale. "WE NEED TO GET TO ZANE'S HOUSE RIGHT NOW!" Garroth shouts. "WELL YOU LEAD THE WAY, I JUST GOT HERE SO I HAVE NO CLUE WHERE HIS HOUSE IT!" Vylad shouts. "THIS WAY!" Garroth yells, starting to sprint down the street. They run down the street to Zane's house and start rapidly knocking on the door. Zane opens it, an annoyed look already on his face. "This better not be about a hug of some kind." He says. "Zane, we REALLY need to talk!" Vylad says. Zane lets out a long sigh. "Fine, come on in." He says, stepping out of the way. The boys move not even a foot before Zane's phone rings. "Huh? Oh, it's mom?" He questions, looking at the screen. Garroth grabs the phone and throws it as hard and far as he can. "HUH!? GARROTH! WHAT WAS THAT ABOUT!" Zane yells, hearing a car screech and a window break. "Zane, we need to tell you something." Vylad says. Zane raises his eyebrow.
