Chapter Twenty One

Rosy quickly sat up, breathing heavily and looking around her. Her eyes go wide at the sight of her three friends laying on the floor. One by one, they open there eyes, doing the same thing she had done mere seconds ago. "Where are we?" Aphmau asks, taking in her surroundings. 

Numbers.

Rows and rows of green and black numbers.

They hear footsteps and some mumbling coming towards them. Kawaii~Chan's ears go down. "Kawaii~Chan is scared! How did we get here!?" She shouts. Katelyn punches her arm. "Shut up Kawaii~Chan! Try to stay calm, they might hear you!" She whisper-yells. "We have to find a place to hide!" Rosy says, standing up. "Where!? Everything looks the same! This HAS to be a dream." Aphmau says. Katelyn pinches her. Aphmau lets out a cry in pain. "Guess not." Katelyn says. "What even IS this place? It looks like the inside of a video game." Rosy says. She looks down at her feet. She jumps in shock. There was no floor. She screams and jumps onto Aphmau, pointing at the floor. "THERE'S NOTHING THERE! HOW ARE WE STANDING!?" She shouts. "I don't know what's going on or where we are, but we will find a way out of here. We just have to-" Aphmau starts, but she stops when she realizes it became deadly silent. The footsteps had stopped. "HOW ARE YOU FOUR HERE!?" A voice booms. The three girls turn around.

"Hope?" Rosy's voice barely comes out as a whisper.

Hope stands in place, shocked. She stumbles on her words, trying to think of ANYTHING to say. "Hope...do you know why we're here?" Aphmau says, narrowing her eyes and stepping closer to her. "Aphmau, c'mon! Don't assume that-" Rosy starts to defend her friend when they hear a small noise. The noise soon turns into small giggles, then laughing. Hope holds her stomach as she lets out hysterical laughter. "Oh man! I can't believe you guys are here!" Her laughter suddenly stops. She looks up at the four with no emotion on her face. "You four shouldn't be here. It'll mess everything up. You want to live out your 'fun and ironic' life, don't you?" She says, walking closer. With every step she takes, the four back up. Katelyn suddenly stops. "I knew something was off about you since the moment I met you, but of course I ended up trusting you in the end!" She shouts. Katelyn whips around to Rosy. "This is all YOUR fault! YOU let her into our life. YOU told me that she's okay! IT COULD OF JUST BEEN THE THREE OF US, BUT YOU HAD TO COME INTO THE EQUATION, DIDN'T YOU!? You...YOU MUST BE BEHIND THIS!" She shouts at Rosy, stomping up to her and grabbing her the collar. Aphmau and Kawaii~Chan try to pull her away. "KATELYN~SAMA, CALM DOWN! We all know that Rosy~Senpai has nothing to do with this! Rosy~Senpai went to high school with us, even if we didn't know her, Rosy~Senpai was with us since the very beginning! Katelyn~Sama, your mind isn't in the right place, you need to calm down!" Kawaii~Chan shouts at her. Katelyn's eyes go wide and she slowly lets go of Rosy, hands shaking. Rosy gets dropped to the floor, wiping the tears from her face. "I'm sorry...I didn't know...please don't leave me...I'm sorry." She says over and over again. Aphmau hugs her and looks up at Hope who still has shown no emotion. "Hope please, just tell us what's going on." Aphmau says to her. Hope sighs and cracks a small smile. "I suppose I could, since none of you will remember this anyways." She says. "What do you-" Aphmau starts. Hope glares at her. "Oh shut up and just listen!" She yells. Rosy flinches slightly. Hope starts to mumble to herself. "...cover this up...make it a dream..." Only bits an pieces of what she says can be made out. Hope snaps her fingers, making chairs appear. "Sit down." Her voice booms. Everybody scrambles to sit down. "Now, how do I put this lightly...none of you are real." She says. Nobody says anything. "I'm not going to go to deep into detail but this," she gestures around her to the numbers, "This is the house. This is the guys house. This is the streets, the trees and the sidewalks. This 'place' makes up everything you know." Hope finishes. They all stare in disbelief, not believing a word she said. "This has to be a dream...this HAS to  be a dream." Katelyn says, her voice shaking. "Well, that's how you're going to remember it so sure! It's a dream!" Hope says, giggling. "Now, how to explain this so you will ACTUALLY understand...hmm." Hope continues, rubbing her chin. "But how-" Rosy starts to ask, but Hope puts her finger up. "Ah, it was so obvious! One less step to making this a dream, too. Less work, then we can forget this ever happened and you can go on living your dramatic and unrealistic life." She says. Hope snaps her fingers again, making the surroundings warp and turn into the living room of the girls house. She pulls a microphone out a nowhere, puts on a fake smile, and pulls a weird face. "This is the Hope you know, right? Good! Now you're nice and comfortable!" Hope says. The girls all look at each other, then around the room. Everything is the same. Hope coughs, getting there attention. "Now pay close attention....friends." She says through gritted teeth.
