Chapter 2: The New Team & a Mission
The walk to the Leaf was long and boring. Three times I’d tried to sneak away and three times Shee had grabbed me, tutting and smirking.
“Come on guys,” I tried to reason. “This isn’t fair.”
“Life isn’t fair but you learn to deal with it kid,” Darui replied.
I huffed and kicked a pebbled out of my way. Well, my clone did.
From when I was hidden in the bushes, I watched them stroll further and further on. Shadow glanced back but a warning glare from me kept his mouth shut. Dawn was too busy singing to herself to notice.
I think there is something missing upstairs with the one, I thought.
My clone shouldered her pack and released a deep mournful sigh.
I grinned and tip toed back a few steps and connected with a body. Freezing, I gulped and praying it was some weird type of tree, reached back and felt an arm.
Shee shook his head and gripped my wrist, yanking me out of the bushes and dragging me over to where Darui and my smiling clone waited.
“Fat lot of good you are,” I snapped at her. She responded by sticking her tongue out and poofing away. “Oh! Real mature!”
Darui sighed and muttered something to himself before grabbing me and flinging me over his shoulder. Himself and Shee continued on, without a care, while I dangled off of his back.
“HEY! Put me down! This is so degrading!” I shouted thumping him on the back. “I know my rights!”
Shee peered down at me. “Oh really? What are they then?”
Damn, didn’t think he would ask me...
“Uh...the right to not be man handled?” I smiled sweetly.
He laughed, “Nice try.”
An idea popped into my head as I slumped defeated over Darui’s hard shoulder, and boy was it a good one.
Shadow tilted his head slightly; watching as I slide my hand down Darui’s back and pinched his butt hard. He squealed like a pig and dropped me.
Seeing my opportunity, I raced off. Too bad I wasn’t paying attention to where I was going. I crashed face first into the close gates of Konoha.
