"Goodbye, everyone!" I yelled from inside the taxi, having already said a proper farewell to my family in the house.

"Bye Maya and Ace!" They call out, waving bye to us from the front yard.

Ace and I wave back.

"Till next time guys!" I yell as the taxi starts to drive off.

"Bye!" They all call out one last time.

I smile and sit back in my seat properly. Off to the airport now.

The whole plane ride, Ace and I sat in the same row. This time though, not beside each other. We were one seat separate.

Ace was sound asleep while I was awake listening to music. I looked out the plane window and let my thoughts take over.

The kiss Ace gave me was something I would never forget. Even if it was something brief, it still felt wonderful.

That got me thinking. What were we?

I sure liked him. Did he though? Why else kiss me?

Maybe that was something I should discuss with him.

Just then the pilot's voice could be heard through the speakers. We were about to land in 30 minutes.

The seat between us was not being occupied so it was easy to lean over and wake up Ace. I nudged his arm.

"Hey wake up," I told him. "Planes about to land." and I nudged his arm one last time. His eyes fluttered open.

"Oh ok." Is all he said in a sleepy voice. I smiled at his cuteness and leaned back in my seat to buckle up.

I texted Candice to tell her our plane had just landed. She would be picking up both Ace and me.

I had truly missed my best friend. And when I had spotted her in front of a gift shop, I ran towards her and engulfed her in a big hug.

"Oh my gosh Candice. I missed you so much!" I beamed, hugging her.

"I missed you too dude!" She said just as excited and we stayed hugging for a moment more before pulling away.

"Sorry for the lack of communication. I'll make it up to you." I said with a smile, and she nodded.

"That's alright. And yep, we'll definitely need to catch up." Candice spoke. "Oh, also I brought Owen with me."

I turned around to see Owen stop talking to Ace at the mention of his name and greeted him.

"Glad to see you guys again," I smiled and decided to be playful with my next sentence. "Ace was such a pain in the-"

"Hey!" Ace exclaimed cutting me off. He held a mad expression already knowing what I was going to say.

Candice, Owen, and I laughed.

"Relax I was just joking," I said with a sly smile playing on my lips.

"So how was the trip for you guys? Finally get a break from each other?" Candice asked and I shook my head. I had told them a few things over the week so they knew Ace stayed with me at my parent's house. But they didn't know all the details.

"Nope. We still ended up being roommates."

Candice and Owen held looks of surprise.

"Wow. Well, it was the same old routine then right?" Owen questioned.

Ace and I gave each other a look. We had slept on the same bed but we both probably didn't want to tell them that.

"Uhh, you could say that." Ace said, scratching the back of his neck in a nervous gesture.
