Swallow me whole

As I look at her flushed state after dropping all her books on the floor, I knew exactly what she felt right then. I could tell she wanted to die. Not in a planned sort of way but like an instant one which can be stated as wishing for Earth to swallow her whole. I guess this was why I made a fool out of myself in front of the whole class just so the judgmental stares she was getting would turn to me and she would feel better.
