I stood at the stove making pancakes for Bella , Charlie , and I for breakfast today . Normally we had smaller things for breakfast something we each picked for ourselves but today was Bella's Birthday and I wanted it to feel more special for her . I put the last pancake on the plate that held them when I felt Charlie wrap his arm around my waist and nuzzle my neck making me giggle .
" You should check on Bella , Breakfast is done and she has school so Edward will be here soon . " I said trying to wiggle out of his grip . I never thought how outwardly loving Charlie could be since he was such an awkward man. But I have come to realize when you get close to him he is very lovey just with a cute blush when he does .
"Okay honey . " He kissed my cheek as he grabbed Renee and his Birthday presents that were coordinated for her a camera and an Album to hold her pictures that she takes with it.
I heard him clomp up the stairs before the knock on the door I zoned out to set the table . I turned to the table and set the pancakes on table between the eggs and sausage's as well as the fruit yogurt . I made a lot so we'd have left overs so maybe Charlie could take some to work with him . I smiled at the table until I realized there was no toast when I heard Charlie stomp back downstairs . I whipped around and spoke to him questioning breakfast .
"Should I have made toast ?" I looked to him when he looked to the table after a moment he let out a breathy laugh .
"I think there is enough food if not too much . "
"Hmm, Well I thought you could take some to work for lunch and heat it up ." I suggested my earlier idea .
"I could ." He nodded before taking a seat at the table .
I heard Bella walked downstairs as Charlie began to fill his plate in a rush since he need to be at work soon . I rushed to the counter and grabbed the bag with Bella's present in it .
"Happy Birthday Bella !" I smiled happily holding out her present to her She held a shocked face as she looked at the table filled with food and than to her present Before she smiled shyly at me .
"Cora you didn't have to do all this ." She said to me .
"Oh but I did Bella , Anyway this isn't what I really wanted to do your father had to hold me back on your present . " When I said this Charlie chuckled at the table . " Oh hush you and eat your breakfast ." I ended up laughing through my feign hurt at him finding it funny how obsessed I get for birthdays and holidays . It mainly had to do with I love to shop for people .
It's something Alice and I have bonded over throughout the years . It's also why I was band from teaming up with Alice to plan their birthday party tonight . Edward said I quote ''Bella is sensitive 'bout this stuff she wouldn't be able to handle an Alice and Cora event " .
Bella soon showed horror at the thought of what I might have wanted to do for her . I giggled at her face before shuffling her to the table . I sat next to her in the chair close to Charlie .
"Well go on open it . " I smiled .

She started to unwrap her presents and smiled and laughed lightly at the fake cactus and hugged me when she finished . "Thank you , You really shouldn't have Cora ."
"I wanted to ." I smiled to her .
"I really appreciate it Cora even though I told everyone I didn't want anything for my birthday ." she looked to both Charlie and I pointedly before she kept speaking. "I want thank you for the effort of making breakfast but I'm not really all that hungry this morning . "
"Oh that's okay than we'll just have left overs than , Plus it was fun to cook so early in the morning . " I said to her .
she smiled . " Well Edward should be here soon so I'm gonna go and wear this shirt today . " I hugged her before she went up stairs to change her shirt and put her gifts away .
Turned and started to eat until I realized Charlie was looking at me so I stopped and cleared my throat . "What?" I asked him .
"I'm so lucky ." I shook my head before I looked at the clock.
"You should get going to work ." I said to him .
He stood up and started to get ready to leave when I stopped him . "Wait what about your lunch ?"
"how about you just stop by for lunch , It's always a treat for you to visit me at work anyway. " He said grabbing his keys .
"Alright I'll see you than ?" He nodded before kissing me goodbye .
After the front door closed Bella came down and ran by . "Edward here I'll tell him you said hi ."
"Okay , See you after school." I yelled after her before the door closed again .
I sighed now sitting in an empty house as usual at this time . I remember my first day alone here was very weird I had no clue what to do with myself . But that's when I started myself a schedule for the day . I would vampire eat while they were gone and than clean and run errands .
I finished breakfast before I started putting food away and doing the dishes as well as righting things we needed in the fridge on my marker board under the house phone . When the kitchen was spotless I made our bed in our room than vacuumed the whole house and dusted the living room after putting a load of laundry in that I would switch out later into the dryer .
