Like usual.
He didn't have a smile on his face.
Was he really going to the military?
"My grandmother passed away this morning."
He couldn't hold it in anymore.
He bursted out crying, burrying his face in the crook of my neck, his hands and arms around me.
"I'm so sorry for your loss."
I patted his back countless times. All I could do was cry with him.
"She's in a better place now."
His cries became louder, his yells became muffles. His tears wettened my shoulder.
We sat there for twenty minutes.
He has the softest heart ever.
