she changed her hair
she wore sweet dresses
she become someone else

she wore a smile
she paraded a laugh, sweet curls and red lips
she was nothing like herself

she wore a necklace with the word 'wish'
she could only wish
she wished they'd see her
she wished someone would believe her

she made them fall for her
she made them hurt
she wasn't who they thought she was
she wasn't her

she didn't love them
she just wanted to be loved
she only then realised
she was never loved

she rubbed off her red lipped smile
she hid her mesmerising laugh
she stopped pretending
she was someone she was not
