~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Yao paced outside the hospital room where his wife was being kept. The nurse only would tell him that she had an accident at work. He finally sat down across the hall from the door in a nervous pile of stressed flesh. The door opened and he raised his head.
"Mr. Wang, I'm sorry to have to ask this, is there anyone that you know of that would wish her harm?" The doctor stood there eying the chart in his hands.
"Nobody comes to mind at the moment. Why?" Yao asked as he stood.
"First, what did the nurse tell you?" The doctor finally looked up from the chart with a seemingly emotionless expression.
"That (y/n) was in an accident at work." Yao hardened his gaze slightly, he felt as if what he was about to hear wasn't going to be good.
"She was attacked. The police have been called to investigate the matter. She sustained a head injury that has placed her into a coma. Blood tests show that she is pregnant, which leaves you as her husband and the fetus' father with two options. Abort and save your wife or don't and risk loosing your wife." The doctor kept his temperament somewhat the same aside from a slight twinge of pity for the Asian man in front of him. Yao closed his eyes and sighed while he thought it through. He knew that his wife tested every few days after their activities, so the chances of her knowing already were high up there. He also knew that she had asked a similar question in the past and he knew that she was upset for picking her over the child.
"Don't abort the baby, (y/n) would not forgive me." Yao smiled sadly. The doctor nodded grimly and went to the nurses station to give some suggestions for the nurses.
The months passed like a procession of carts pulled by old mules and nearly nine months had passed. Yao sat beside the (h/c) haired woman that stole his breath away nearly seven years ago to date. He had her (s/c) hand in his own reading a Chinese parable to her in Chinese, she had told him that hearing him speak in his native tongue was soothing, so he was silently praying that she would just wake up and listen to him for real. He felt her move slightly and saw her face contort in pain he called through the open door for a nurse since her grip on his hand was near vice-like. By the time that a nurse had entered the room (y/n) was screaming from a wave of pain that hit her like an unseen baseball bat to her lower back. She had awakened.
"(y/n), wo hua, breathe please." (my flower) Yao stood by her side and let her squeeze the hell out of his hand. The nurse gave her a shot which numbed her to the pain. The nurse then quickly took her to the one empty operating room where a C-section was performed on her. After the infant was sufficiently cleaned and well swaddled it was handed to Yao.
"A boy, she is exhausted and such so she is asleep, you made the right choice Mr. Wang. Would you like to name him now or wait until your wife wakes up?" The nurse asked softly trying not to disturb the baby.
"We shall wait -aru." He began humming to the child in his arms. The nurse nodded and left Yao with his son. He was approached nearly an hour later by a nurse who notified him that his wife was awake. When Yao reached her form that looked around she furrowed her brows slightly in confusion.  "I haven't named him, yet what do you want to help me pick a name -aru?" (y/n) nodded softly.
The two went on going through a list of names and declining them. Yao saved the name that (y/n) told him would be top of her list if she had a son for last.
"How about Aang?" He asked exciting a vigorous nod from her.
After a couple of months of physical and speech therapy and of course her memory came back, (y/n) was allowed to go home. When she learned what the name of her son was she stifled a laugh.
"Yao, honey, why would you let me name him that?" She asked after sufficiently got the child to sleep.
"You liked the name -aru." He said without looking up from his book.
"He is going to get hell in school for his name." She sighed.
"Good thing his middle name is Zuko then -aru." Yao smirked teasingly at his wife.
"That's not funny." She pouted.
"I'm glad that both of you are so strong, I could care less if his name was flower vase, you both are here with me and I am so glad that you are." Yao at this time stood and pulled his wife in to his arms. He kissed her passionately like he has wanted to for quite a while.
