Chapter 2: Change

"Hey no need to apologise it wasn't your fault"he said letting your chin go when he was sure you wouldn't look away "and besides you did kinda try to stop me" he said scratching the back of his head. You smiled and the both of you went and sat with the others, it was just like the old days and you loved every second of it. "Sooooo" you heard Wally say, this caused everyone to turn to look at him, well except Jeran, since you don't need your eyes to listen to a person, but he was listening couldn't pass up this juicey story.

"Exactly how did this happen" he asked gesturing to Artemis and Kaldur, blushing the two coughed awkwardly, but it was Kaldur who started, "well it was about year after you were gone" he started, "he was there for me more than the others and I guess I unconciously fell for him and he felt the sane and so we started dating" Artemis finished, nodding his head Wally asked another question one that shocked everyone, even Jeran turned to look at him. "So does that mean you don't love me anymore?", looking at each other then back to him Artemis held his hand, "Of course I do I mean as a friend but just not in the same way as before, I'm sorry Walls" she said her eyes shining with a mixture of honesty and worry, nodding his head you knew he still didn't quite understand, so you got up and pulled him to the hallway, ignoring his shouts of protest, shouting back a "if any of you listen in you will have some private lessons with batman" back to the group.

"Ok what was up back there?" you asked crossing your arms, but your face showed worry, "I don't know what your talking about" was his reply, this response just caused a sigh to be released from you lips, "ok time to spread some words of wisdom" you said looking at him.

"Wally Arti was devastated when they thought they lost you, she grieved for month upon months she loved you so much it was hard for her" you said, "maybe not that much" he said looking down. "You have no idea how wrong you are" you said he looked up at that uttering a "huh" in confusion. "It took a year for her to get over you a year Wally thats love for the most a boyfriend is months but when its someone you love and I mean truly deeply love it takes a year, but she needed to move on none of them were sure you would come back" you said, "but you were" he said, you held your arm, "honestly I was begining to question it myself but it was the feeling that kept me believing, Wally you were gone for two years, now its your turn to let go, stand by her as a friend and be happy she is happy right" you said placing your arm on his sholder smiling. He smiled back in response and pulled you in for a hug, after the brief hug you both went back into the room after everyone ran back to their seats and acted like they weren't just eavesdropping, but you both knew.

"Were glad to have you back bud" Dick said smiling and patting his back, "your family will be so happy" Megan chirped in, "thanks guys, but who is the kid" he asked gesturing to the tan Dutch/Filipino boy, "oh thats my hero in training that I'm mentoring, his real name is Jeran, but in costume he's known as Black Mage, his powers consist mainly of dominance over shadows like manipulating it, illusions, etc." you said placing a hand on his sholder, "thats cool, a shadow user being mentored by a member of the bat family seems about right" he said rubbing his chin. "Wait whats that supposed to mean!?" Both you and dick shouted, he just laughed along with everyone else, "nothing you two just have a tendancy to be a little to serious, or scary at times" Conner said smirking, both you and your brother looked at each other then said, "I doh see it" shrugging which resulted in another round of laughter.

After a while you were all ready to go home until, "guys wait" you all heard behind you and turned to Wally, "where am I going to stay?" He asked, confused Kaldur asked, "what do you mean?", "well I used to live with Artemis and its a one bedroom apartment, won't it be kinda you know weird, for me to be sleeping there" He explained "Thats right, it might be awkward won't it" Megan stated, but you had an idea that might work, "I have a spear room at my place you can stay there" you offered praying that you didn't blush. Nodding his head with a smile wally said a thanks and slung his arm around your shoulders, you responded with a "no problem" ignoring the knowing smirks the others were giving as you all continued on your way home, Change was a funny thing, its ether your ready and cope with it or your not and refuse it, but all you could question yourself with were you ready?.
