It's midnight. In the dark streets of the Houston City, there was no one to be seen. Almost no one. There was a woman walking down the street very carefully. She seemed to be carrying something... or someone. If someone looked at her from the far away, she would seem to just be carrying a bunch of blankets. But she wasn't. For there was a child safely hid in her motherly embrace, a baby really, no more older than a few months.
She walked down the dark street, not making a single sound, like a ghost. Her tall, lean figure, stopped at an old orphanage. She was shaking. Maybe it was from the cold of the windy November, maybe it was from sadness or maybe she was just tired? No. It was fear that was pulsing through her veins. {Should I really do this? I haven't a choice. We've been running for weeks now. She'll be safer here..} thoughts ran through her head.
She turned around as she was expecting someone watching her. She had her reasons. She slowly stepped up the wet stairs, reaching the door. Her hand hovered before the doorbell as a tear fell down her cheek, moonlight illuminating through it. She pressed her lips on the baby's forehead as it slept peacefully, having no idea of the future in front of her. {I must do it. I must be strong.}.
"Goodbye Diana. I swear I will see you again." she whispered softly before finally pressing the doorbell. She ran down the stairs and down the street faster than a doe being chased. Her silver hair shone in the moonlight, and tears poured down her face as she disappeared into the mist of the early morning.
