"But it's the first day gentlemen; you have not even attempted living together," the old man said, he looked tired and worn out, especially now that these sophomores were complaining about something he certainly did not want to deal with right now.

"No but you don't understand sir, we know each other beforehand, living together would simply be chaotic," Hamilton said with Jefferson nodding in agreement.

"I hate to agree with this idiot on anything, but he's right," Jefferson stated honestly.

Hamilton glared at him before continuing.

"Sir, if you don't believe me, I will write down all the times Jefferson, and I have disagreed on something for you to go over and just see that we are not suitable roommates."

Jefferson sighed "And I can tell you that he will actually do that, probably already has and is just keeping it somewhere for him to shove in my face before challenging me to a duel."

"Shut up Jefferson."

"What? I was supporting your statement."

"But in the most unsupporting way possible."

"Well, what were you expecting?"

That went on for a while before the old man straightened out his blazer and spoke in his hoarse voice,

"Gentlemen, I believe that such an early roommate change is not possible without a valid reason, and your childish bickering is not one I will take into account. I suggest you try your hand at living together and for god's sakes try to mature a bit; you are grown men and a little more maturity should be a logical expectation of you."

For the first time in years, Alexander Hamilton did not know what to say.

The two walked out of the office and headed back to Laf and Herc's dorm without speaking or even acknowledging each other.

When they arrived, they didn't even bother to knock.

"Alors, how did it go?"

Lafayette and Hercules were sat together on the couch; they seemed to be watching something on a laptop sitting on the table in front of the sofa.

"Well, the old grump apparently did not understand the crisis we are in," Hamilton said as he closed the door behind them.

Thomas went straight to the fridge and took out a bowl of mac and cheese he'd put in there earlier that day, knowing his brother already had a microwave which he did not, he forgot to get one while looking through what he was going to buy for his dorm. He would have checked with his roommate but, you know.

His trick for keeping refrigerated mac and cheese good was to simply add loads of milk before putting it in the fridge; it kept it creamy when he reheated it.

He stuck it in the microwave and set the timer to three minutes before letting out a huge sigh.

"Laf, what's he doing?" Hercules whispered.

Lafayette knew what Thomas was doing; he ate mac and cheese so much it was uncanny, but it was also in a way his comfort food, and right now, he was in much need of it.

"He keeps that everywhere, it's étrange," the Frenchman simply stated and looked back to Alex who had by now sat down on the grey chair to the right of the couch.

"Mon ami, are you alright?" He spoke, knowing both of the two were highly overreacting.

"I have to live with Jefferson," Alex replied in disbelief.

"No, Jefferson has to live with you," Thomas nearly yelled from the kitchen.

They all heard a ding and Jefferson carefully took out his mac and cheese, picked up a fork and started aggressively eating.

"But, have you two even seen your dorm yet, I mean it has to be huge right, like the one Thomas had last year, and like this one. You won't even have to see each other, just stay in your rooms at all times and sneak out like ninjas every time you need to. It can't be that hard." Mulligan said, laughing at himself at that last part, he didn't even control it, he was just so hilarious.

"Well I mean, I guess we do have to live together no matter if we like it or not," Alex said frustrated

"Look, you are both acting like big bébés, and I think you should go to your dorm and get settled and never speak to each other again," Laf said, clearly tired of the two drama queens.

"Fine, Hamilton, let's go then," Thomas said, putting the now empty bowl down on the counter and exiting the dorm.

"I can't believe this is happening," Alexander declared before following the older man into the hall.

Hercules had been right; the dorm was huge, way bigger than Alex's last one. It looked similar to Lafayette and Herc's. As they entered, Alex immediately noticed a little kitchen to his left. Opposite the kitchen sat a couch with a small arm chair on each side, exactly like Laf and Herc's but whereas their couch faced away from the kitchen, this one was on the other end, facing the kitchen directly. If you walked into the kitchen and the main space, there were two rooms on each side with a bathroom on end. Alex stood there in awe, it did look almost identical to the dorm they had just left, but he never thought he would live somewhere like this. This was more of an apartment than a dorm room. Thomas plummeted down onto the couch, surprised that Alexander Hamilton was not talking for once, maybe this wouldn't be so bad.
