We drive to my house in silence until I just cant hold it in.
"Where did you go after I fell asleep in the maze?"
"I needed to you know get a drink mingle with my crowd." I nod.
"I see. So you couldn't at least tell me?"
"You looked so peaceful sleeping." Nice try. I turn the other way.
"Look I'm sorry. I should've told you where I went. I feel totally responsible for your attack. At least your fine." I keep quiet.
We pull up to my house and I open the door.
"Clarence."
I turn to look at him.
"I 'm truly and truly sorry for what happened tonight. So is the answer yes to my note still?" He had such a hopeful face, that I couldn't bear to see it sad.
I sigh. "I guess its a yes."
"Oh thank you. So what about a trip to the beach tomorrow.?"
"Ill have to see how my punishment comes out."
"Want me to come and help you out?"
"I think it would be great if they didn't know I was with a guy. You know it would be safer.'
"Ok see you tomorrow."
He pulls out of the driveway and drives away.
I head to the front door and open it to find two very angry people looking at me.
