Beep! Beep! Beep! It was my stupid alarm clock going at it again. I slammed my hand on it, making it shut up. I hop into my shower and wash my hair with shampoo and conditioner. Taking showers in the morning always wake me up. Today, I chose a dark maroon v-neck and some blue jeans with my converse. I notice that it's chilly outside and decide to put on a jacket. When I walk into the kitchen, I see something expected. It was Nurse Nina wearing one of my father's shirts with her heels in one hand and her purse in the other. I exasperated.

"It's not what it looks like." She said to which I rolled my eyes. "Just don't tell your mother please." I signaled her the OK sign. Then, I shooed her out. She ran out of the house and wandered the street a bit.

"Idiot." I said out loud. I grabbed a banana and headed out the door. Pulling up at Ben's house, I rolled my windows down.

"Look who's on time for once." He signed. I motioned him to get in and we drove to school. Since we were early, I got a good parking spot. Ben and I went to my locker to grab my stuff and saw that he was there.

"Marie Grace, how lovely it is to see you again." He said in a terrible British accent which made me laugh. Ben, however, didn't find it very funny.

"What's so funny?" Ben signed to me.

"He tried to do a British accent." I signed.

"Well, what's so funny about that?" He signed back to me. I shrugged my shoulders because I thought it was quite cute.

"Why, I absolutely find that hilarious." Justin said out loud making Ben turn his head, appalled. So apparently he could sign.

"Who's your friend?" Justin asked me. But before I could answer, Ben answered for me.

"Ben." He signed.

"Well, Ben, pleasure meeting you. Marie Grace, I'll see you at lunch. Good day to you both." He tipped an imaginary bowlers hat at us, smiled, and left.

"Well isn't he just Mr. Congeniality?" Ben looked furious.

"What, you jealous?" I raised an eyebrow.

"Jealous of what, a hotheaded baboon who probably doesn't know anything?"

"Maybe." And with that, we walked to Advanced Calculus together. When I walked in with Ben, something unexpected happened. Mrs. Harding wasn't there, but Rosy was.

"Look everybody, if it isn't Mute and Deaf!" She shrilled. The entire class looked our way.

"Aren't they perfect for each other?" She went on. Me and Ben just ignored her and sat down. I've been insulted before, but I never really cared and nothing changed from me caring this time either. I was, however, puzzled that Rosy would be that petty. She always seemed very friendly and forward.

"Take a seat class." Mrs. Harding just walked in. Everybody sat in their seat, including Rosy. As Mrs. Harding drawled on about the lesson, I couldn't help but think of Justin. His blue eyes and cute smile. The bell was still ringing when I was half asleep. I was shaken awake by Ben.

"Didn't get enough sleep I see." Ben signed to me as we walked out of class.

"Yeah sorta."

"Go on." He gestured at me.

"Dear ol' Dad was at it again last night with some nurse." I rubbed my eyes while trying to sign.

"Was it Nina, or was it Tracy?" We reached the front office. He began to write his name out on the clipboard.

"Nina." I was still signing to him as he was leaving. It eventually took his mom honking her horn to get him to leave. He waved at me and I waved back. I headed to my next class, AP Biology. I was about to take my usual seat, when I saw him in the seat next to me. It was Justin. I didn't even know he was in my AP Bio. School had been going on for about a month now and I didn't even know he was in my class. I sat down as the bell rang again. The teacher, Mr. Banes, began to clap his hands for attention.
