I walked out of the LAX airport and into the warm LA sun. Mitch searched the parking lot for Jerome's blue sudan. "Biggums?" Someone asked. Jerome came up behind us and gave us both hugs.

"Biggums!" Mitch cheered embracing Jerome. I could see the happiness in Mitch's eyes. We hadn't seen Jerome since the fair when he announced he was moving.

"Follow me to my car, Kenny is at home," Jerome said leading us to his grey sports car.

"New upgrade biggums," Mitch mumbled rubbing his hand over the hood of the car.

"Is Lucy still living with you?" I asked smelling her scent in the car.

"No, after she moved here from New York she got a call to be on a show. She lives alone in an apartment. Why?" Jerome answered turning the car on.

"No reason," I sighed buckling up. The car ride to Jerome's place seemed longer than usual. Most of the time I looked out the window and tried to picture what Kennedy looked like. Maybe she had long brown hair and green eyes or maybe she had short blonde hair and brown eyes.

"We're here." Jerome announced pulling up to a 3-4 bedroom home. My phone buzzed in my pocket.

"LEX!" Nicole screamed through the phone. "It's Tiffany's 3 month birthday!"

"Yay! I can't wait to meet her!" I cried. I couldn't believe it had been almost a year. "Please visit New Jersey soon!" I begged.

"What happened?" Mitch asked as I hung up the phone.

"It's Tiffany's 3 month birthday," I cheered. Mitch grabbed my hand.

"That's great, can we go in and take a nap? I'm super tired," Mitch mumbled dragging me towards the door. I laid down in bed next to Mitch and closed my eyes.

-TIME SKIP-

"Hey Baby," Someone said.

"I missed you a lot," Another person mumbled. I opened one eye and watched a boy and girl kiss.

"I love you," the boy said.

"What about her? I don't want to hurt her," The girl whispered.

"Who cares about her. I'm breaking up with her anyways." The boy replied.

"Really? I don't want her to hate me more!" The girl whined.

"We can keep it a secret." The boy said.

"Fine." The girl mumbled kissing the boy again. I moaned and stretched. I opened one eye and saw Mitch talking to a girl. Was he the boy?

"She's waking up! Run! I'll text you baby,"  Mitch sighed kissing the girl's forehead. She ran out the door and Mitch lied down next to me. I sat up and looked over at Mitch who was pretending to sleep.

"Mitch. Who was that?" I snapped. Mitch didn't move. "Mitch! Stop faking it! My gosh! Wake up and tell me that who that was!" I cried. Tears slid down my cheeks.

"That was my friend." Mitch replied turning away from me.

"Oh, you love your friend." I barked slapping his arm. "I hate you Mitch. We are broken up." I screamed pushing him onto the floor. Mitch got off the floor.

"Good. I've been cheating on you and I was gonna break up with you anyways." Mitch yelled back throwing the glass cup on the table at the wall. Glass shattered and flew everywhere. I closed my eyes trying to block out Mitch. This was just like the night my mom died.

"Get out now!" I screamed. Mitch ran out and grabbed his bags. "Have fun living on the streets! I'm kicking you out too!" I growled as Mitch slammed the door. Tears slid down my cheeks. Love doesn't exist. It's just a distraction. Like an excuse so we can die fulfilled.
