Chapter 2

'Momo'

"y/n? What are you doing here?" he said, with concern in his voice

"I came looking for you, I've been trying to find you for so long" you were tearing up from the excitement

You wanted to hug him desperately, so you ran to him, waiting for his arms to embrace you, aching for his warmth.

Instead, he took a step backwards, and raised his arm, stopping you.

You could feel your heart sink

"We can't do this y/n, it is dangerous. I am dangerous"

"But it doesn't matter! It never has I-" he rushed to you and placed his hand over your mouth, shushing you

"Don't raise your voice" he said in a loud whisper

He removed his hand, that was now stained with your tears

You dropped to the floor on your knees

"You didn't even say goodbye, not even a note. My life has been torture since you left. Please don't do this" You said between sobs

He lifted your chin and held your cheek

"I'm sorry" his watery eyes were filled with pain, pain of seeing you in that state

"y/n, we cannot be here, it is dangerous." he turned around to make sure no one was coming

"Let's meet in my old apartment tomorrow morning at 5:30"

You nodded, and you both gave each other sad smiles in return.

On your way to where Momo had told you, your mind started flooding with millions of thoughts and questions, not one of them was good.

How would he react when you told him?  Would he be angry at you? Would he leave you again?

You covered your ears, trying to block the voices in your head, stopping dead in your tracks.

Before you realized, you had arrived.

Momo was already there, leaning on the wall, weary of anyone lurking.

"Let's go inside" he said firmly

"Won't you get in trouble?" you asked worriedly

"No, the others are on duty, but we still have a few hours"

You went inside and he closed the door behind you.

At first you felt uneasy, but you soon got used to each others presence, just like you used to.

You started talking about general stuff, keeping the other up to date. For a moment you laughed, then it all went silent.

"So... how did you find me?" he asked

"I uhm, I work for the CCG"

"What?" He stood up straight away

"When I left for college I felt the urge to find you, the CCG was hiring newly graduates with a degree on the area where I came from, and you'd get hired if you passed the test"

"And what exactly are the tasks you perform there?"

"I do mostly research and gather up information, even though most of it is fake"

"Have you been covering my tracks?" He asked

"You could say so"

He stood quiet, processing everything

"And what was it?"

You looked at him, puzzled

"The test, what was it about?" his face was serious

"Momo, I-, I have to tell you something" The nerves were eating you alive

And that would technically be the first official chapter, I have stuff planned for the next ones and I really hope you like them. I tried to get ideas from the manga. If you haven't read the manga yet, please do, Ishida Sui's amazing work cannot be compared to the anime. You won't regret it.
