Mid week two and I've turned another shade of tan. The sun has been grateful for the time it was out. Now we stay stuck inside because the rain has decided to copy England and not stop. The humid hair makes my hair ten time as curly and too much to handle. I've taken like 3 showers a day trying to rid myself from the sticky sweatiness.

The house is quiet minus the whistling wind making the window shades dance. I wait for Mia to finish getting dressed so we can grab a bite to eat. She's been a bit quiet lately and I can see the shell she was hidden in when I met her, start to build. I can see the empty laughs and emotionless smiles.

My theory is that the rain is from Mia's glum mood but that's a little theatrical. "Mia are you okay?" I haven't heard a sound from her closet in the past few minus. She steps out looking at the palm of her hands. Her tears are starting to form.

"He's punishing me." She points them down and she only lifts a few inches before she falls. "He's taking them, he's draining me." She tries again and the distance she raises up shortens. A loud crack of thunder makes the lights flicker. She wipes away the tears before they reach her cheek. "This is what I wanted right?"

She looks at me and I just stand there. What do I do? "I told myself it was a curse right, I'll be just like an ordinary human. That's what I wanted right?" I'm frozen to the spot. I've caused more than I thought. She's losing her power her way of living.

I know it's not what she wanted because she said her curse is the only thing that separates her from the simple minded people that teased and pushed her around. She doesn't what to be normal she wants to be Miabella the mystery girl that no one took advantage of and no one bothered to say hi and I screwed that up.

I'm screwing it up now by playing this game this whole thing that I know would ruin every trust in her entire body if she found out. She doesn't even know that the man she is forced to call father is paying me to make her the way she never wanted to become, normal.

"Let's go, I don't think the storm is going to calm down and neither is my stomach." She pulls on her coat and my feet finally decide to work and I follow her to the car without a word.

The radio is just muffled sounds as my mind speaks clear and louder than any big shot with a voice. Mia doesn't attempt to talk, to make small talk, nor start a conversation. Her mouth is too busy gnawing away at her nails like she always does if she's thinking and right now I can see the smoke coming from her ears.

She pulls into a Panda Express and when we step inside it seems like we picked a day everyone was craving it. As we stand in the line Mia grasp my hand and lays her head against my shoulder. I turn and kiss the top of her head and squeeze her cold hand.

A small child tugs at the hem of my shirt. As I look down the green eyed girl holds her teddy tighter. "Hi" Mia doesn't seem to notice the girl as she keeps her eyes closed.

"Hello."

"I'm Haley what's your name?" I look around for any adult calling for her but no one.

"I'm Harry." Mia looks at the girl and smiles.

"My dad is named Harry. You look like him a little bit." She hold out her two fingers to show me the amount of alikeness.

"Haley you can't short cut." A woman comes by and she's dressed in a grey business suit.

"Sorry mommy but look her kind of looks like daddy." The child says with a smile. The woman picks her up while keeping her eyes on me.

"Huh, sorry if she's bothering you lovely couple. Alexis Brooks." She holds out her free hand. I recognize her from the posters.
