I managed to get out of going to school today. Mum was very quick to believe me when I told her her ham sandwich made me stomach sick. I got bored fast and couldn't sleep anymore. I had Mia on my mind. I remember the first day, 'Cast and spells lately'. That stupid football player told her that. Could she be a witch? I'm being stupid there's no such thing as witches. Right? Then I remember the spinning pencil.

I look at the clock and was surprised Cassidy didn't call me all day, when I tried to call her it sent me straight to voice mail. I hear noises outside my window and remembered this was the usual time she left. I tried not to be nosey and not look outside but I couldn't help it.

I caught her just in time to see her long black hair blow back as she ran down the street. I look straight across to her window and grab my phone. I zoom in and look at what I could but all I could see was books scattered around the dark room.

The knock at my door startled me and I drop my phone from my window. I curse under my breath and race to the door, when I open it my mum is there with a plate of food.

"I'm not hungry." I say briefly and push past her. Right when I reach the door I groan.

"Harold Edward Styles you are not to step out of this house, you stayed home sick you'll stay that way. C'mon back to bed." I rolled my eyes and went back upstairs slamming my door.

That night I couldn't sleep at all. It didn't help that Ms. Timid came over last night and talked rather loud about her party tomorrow. Ugh I don't want to go but somehow I do.

"Harry are you almost ready we can't be late we live next door how will that look?" like we don't want to go. As soon as we step out I regret not just putting on my regular pants and shirt, but no 'you have to make a good impression' or just make her look good. I jog to the side of the house and grab my phone. Great, just my luck. I dust off the dirt and examine the sizeable crack across the screen. Here goes another lecture from my mother.

When we step in the house it's crowded with loud people in tux and gowns. I stand bored and awkward in back of my mum as she talks to a crap bunch of people I have no clue are.

The glass clanking in the living room draws everyone attention. I stand against the wall as Ms. Timid gives an unnecessary speech about how happy they are to be the richest people on the block. I look away for a moment and see Mia run to the stair case with a cup in her hand.

I try quietly to weave through the crowd of overly dressed people. Just as I get to the stair case Lydia is called up to sing and once she starts I cringe. Her high pitch voice will forever ruin 'Wings' by Haerts. I reach the top of the stairs and look around.

I walk down trying to hear any movement from the rooms, then I hear a deep voice come from the hall where I came from. I opened the closest door and closed it as quiet as I could. I hear the voice start to fade and I finally exhale. When I look at the door a poster of 'All Time Low' covers the top half and the bottom has a 'Bring Me The Horizon' one. Wow bands I actually listen to.

My breath cuts off as the door open, Mia walks in and freezes. "What are you doing in here!?" her voice intimidates me. I walk back slowly as she walks forwards. "Why can't you lean me alone!" her eyes turn blue and my heart panics.

"I-I," ugh why can't I form a decent word? I maneuver my way to the door and she sharply turns around, I grasp the glass of water nearby and throw it at her and she shields from it and I take it as my chance and run. Almost losing my step I compose myself at the bottom of the stairs.

"Harry?" I jolt in fright and turn to see my worried mother. "Jeez what are you doing you're missing out on Lydia's good performance." Mum tugs me towards the great room but I hold my ground.
