Chapter 55

I pulled her hand to my chest, kissing her knuckles softly, is this really happening?

"Lily? Baby is that really you?!" I exclaim, using my other hand to gently stroke her cheek,

"Tom.. Where am I? What happened?" Lily panics, her fingers get tighter around mine and she slowly starts to lift herself up off the bed,

"No, no, lily lie down" I say gently pushing her back down, "and about what happened.. we fought, and you ran off.. you got hit by a truck.."

"Oh.. How long have I been here? Where is everyone? .... Why were you saying goodbye?"

"You've been here for about four days, Danny and everyone else are in the waiting room - waiting for me.. and we were told to say our goodbyes because the nurse said that you were going to die.." I say, a small tear runs down my cheek just thinking back to the few minutes ago when I was saying my last goodbyes,

"But Tom, I'm here now.. there's no need for goodbyes" She smiles squeezing my hand tighter.

"Tom common, I know it's hard but lil-" Danny stops in his tracks just looking at lily "lily?! Oh my god thank god you're alive!" He practically cries running over to us hand hugging her tightly,

"Um, yeah me too, I guess" she chuckles pulling him tighter.

After a while the nurses became suspicious as to what was happening in the room, they walked in, shocked, and saw our whole crew gathered around Lilys bed once again - but with lily talking instead of us. They asked if we could leave so the could do some checks on lily, but I refused,

"I'm not leaving her side ever again, you told me she was going to die by tomorrow - so I started saying my goodbyes, it broke my heart! So no, I won't go. Im staying here, holding her hand"

They agree and gradually finish checking about with lily, and I stayed there next to her through the whole thing.

After a couple of hours, now 4:30, lily was allowed to go home - more importantly my home. She had had quite a few pain killers for her ribs and leg so was very drowsy and was put in a wheel chair and I was given two crutches for her.

"Common lil" I smile, lifting her up from the bed and into the wheelchair,

"Mmm" was all she mumbled as she let her head fall onto her shoulder.

Harry helped me by pushing lily to my car as I carried the crutches and grabbed some more tablets for lily to take.

We got to my house, where Danny and Charlotte were waiting - they had brought over some of Lilys things, including Oli, so that she felt more at home here. I leap out the car and

carry lily out bridal style up to my bedroom so that she could rest while Harry got everything else out the car.

"Goodnight lil" I whisper, gently kissing her lips before sliding the duvet up over her shoulders,

"Night Tom, love you.." Lily murmurs, shuffling slightly to get comfortable.

"Love you too"

I make my way down stairs, seeing Danny, Charlotte and Harry all lounging in my living room.

"Hey, look, Toms smiling!" Harry chuckles,

"And he has every right to be" Charlotte says back,

She was right, I did have every right to be happy! In the past week i went from having a girlfriend, breaking up, fighting, and saying my final goodbyes at her death bed.. but now I have my girlfriend back, the love of my life back, my heart back and everything was in its rightful place.
