Nighttime Thoughts
Before I let my eyes shut at night,
I think of many things.
Thoughts that I can't think of at day,
And just re-appear every night, before I go to sleep.
Sometimes I recall the good things
Which happened that day.
Sometimes I smile because of that,
And then I enjoy a good night's sleep.
But at most I think of dark things—
Darker than a moonless night.
Thoughts you would not want to know,
For they should just be in my mind.
I'm not going to say what they are,
It's up to you to wonder.
Let me just say that these things make my tears fall,
But no one sees, no one knows, for they don't care.
