Ethan's POV: the next day

"Wow, Ethan, you look so nice!" Jess squealed as she opened her front door.

"So do you." I smiled, handing her the flowers.

I wasn't stoked that Jess was my homecoming date but, it shouldn't be that horrible. At least I'll get to see Ashlynn.

"Let me get a picture before you head off!" Her mother said, ushering us into the living room.

She took about a hundred pictures before she finally stopped, due to Jess's complaining.

"Okay, have fun." Her mom said as we walked out.

A group of us are meeting up at my house before. Which, thankfully, includes Ashlynn and Axel. I can't wait to see how perfect she looks.

Thankfully, the drive from Jess's house to mine was relatively short. Obviously, she's not my favorite person in the entire world.

I parked the car towards the end of my driveway, considering there was shitload of cars already here.

As we walked in, my mom told Jess how beautiful she looked.

As soon as I walked into the living room, my eyes fell on Ashlynn. Holy shit. Stunning. Beyond gorgeous. Red is such an amazing color.

"What's up, man?" Bryce asked, pulling me into a bro-hug.

"Dolan!" Their brother, Drew, yelled from across the living room.

"Hey, Drew." I nodded.

Coach Crosby had all three of them get together for a picture with him. I hadn't realized how much her brothers towered over her, especially Drew. I knew she was short, and that they're tall as hell. You'd think she'd get some of those genes. I guess her mother must have been short because, Coach definitely isn't.

I never got to meet their mom but, from what I've heard she was amazing. I've seen pictures and Ashlynn looks so much like her. She died a while back but, that's a story for another time.

My mom had everyone get into a group picture before she let us all leave.

I looked over, seeing Axel and Ashlynn slow dancing as I was with Jess. I didn't have much of an option, considering she would not leave my side.

It also didn't help that her best friend, Emily, was Grayson's date so, she didn't even have to walk away from me to talk to her. Emily was practically glued to Grayson as well. The only difference was that he was actually enjoying himself.

I wish I could be with Ashlynn but, I don't want to be rude to Jess and I don't want to piss Axel off.

But, Ashlynn looks so amazing tonight. I just can't keep my eyes off of her. From her hair, to her makeup, to her dress. Lord, that dress. It suits her so well. Nobody looks nearly as good as she does.

As soon as the song ended, Axel came over to us, holding Ashlynn's hand.

"You guys want to head over to my place. We can get the party started a little early." Axel suggested.

There was only about twenty minutes until the dance ended anyways so, we figured, why not?

Of course, Jess and Emily were going to Axel's party too but, it'd be easy to get rid of Jess there. Hopefully.

Jess had to stop at her house so that she could change into more comfortable clothes so, I decided to do the same in her bathroom.

Axel only lived down the street from Jess so, she let me leave the car in her driveway and we walked the short distance to his house.

By the time we got the there, there was already a ton of people. Wow, word gets around fast, I guess.

"Hey, Dolan." Axel greeted, slinging his arm over my shoulders.

"What's up, Bianchi?" I asked, trying to look for Ashlynn.

"She's up in my room. She's changing out of her dress." He said and I nodded.

I watched as Bryce and Ryan shotgunned a beer, Bryce cheering as he finished first. Definitely going to have to babysit them tonight.

"Listen, I'll get rid of Jess for you." He said, letting go of me and looking at her.

To be honest, I didn't even realize that she was still right up against me.

He got the attention of one of his friends, said something to him, and next thing I knew, she was gone. Thank God.

"Thanks, man." I said.

"No problem. Don't fuck up with Ash tonight." He warned.

"I wouldn't dare." I said, putting my hands up in defense.

I watched as she walked down the steps. Of course, she's Ashlynn, and she's wearing a sweater and leggings. Typical but, still without flaw.

"Hi." She said quietly, coming up to Axel and I.

"I'll let you two talk." Axel said, kissing Ashlynn's forehead before running off somewhere.

"How's your night?" I asked her.

"Good. Yours?" She asked, smiling up at me.

"Alright, now that I'm with you." I said. Cheesy, I know, but it made her smile so, it's a win in my book.

"I'm gonna go take my hair out of this." She said, pointing to the updo she had for the dance.

"I'll help." I said, following her to the bathroom. I have a sister and have been to enough dances to know that there is a lot of bobby-pins and hairspray.

"Thanks." She said, sitting on the closed toilet, starting to pull the pins out.

"Let me get it." I said, standing behind her, starting to pull them out. This reminded me a lot of the time she let me attempt to braid her hair.

After about ten minutes, I finally got them all out and she pulled her hair up into a bun.

"Ladies first." I said, letting her go out before me.

Now, for the best part of the night.
