The Old Man's Song

The old man sits on the creaky stool,
Thinking of the melodies he learned in school,
The people gawk and whisper and stare,
As the old man plays his song.

The little birds sing and chirp in delight,
Children watch with eyes big and bright,
And all of the students look up from their work,
As the old man plays his song.

Drivers stop in their cars and trucks,
And readers slowly put down their books,
And sleepy dogs arise from their naps,
As the old man plays his song.

The clouds start dancing, they twirl and they sway,
And the sun shone brighter than ever that day,
Artists listen for his music inspires,
As the old man plays his song.

Jupiter and Saturn are playing with Mars,
And the moon gives a friendly smile to the stars,
And the world stands in peace, united as one,
As the old man plays his song.
