I picked up a slice of pizza and took a bite. It tasted amazing.

Mitchel had already finished his two pieces. I laughed at him. His cheeks grew a light pink. "I was hungry." I laughed again. "I could tell."

I knew we had to talk about what happened in the field. We couldn't be together. I knew this and so did Mitch.

I took a deep breath.

"You know we can't be together, right?"

Mitchel sighed. "Yes we can."

"No. We can't. You'll get hurt. I can't let you get hurt because you care for me."

Mitchel put his hand to my face. I leaned into his touch. "We can do it. We don't have to tell anyone. We can keep it secret. I need you Delilah."

"You're father will never allow it."

"He won't find out."

"How can you be so certain?"

"You have to trust me! Delilah, I love you. I won't let Axton or anyone else hurt you."

I looked down. I want to be with him. Really, really badly. But, I knew we could both end up dead.

But I wanted to try.

"Okay. We'll try. But if you get hurt-,"

Mitchel's lips pressed forcefully to mine.

When he pulled back, I was out of breath. His kisses will always leave me breathless.

Mitchel pulled me closer to him. "Nothing will happen to either of us. I promise."

I nodded and laid down.

I felt Mitchels arms wrap around me. I rested my head on his chest and fell asleep quickly.
