Upon entering the spacious hall of the Crocus Castle I had the sudden urge to leave and catch the next train - even with my hatred for vehicles. This is no place for me, I feel like I'm disobeying the law just by standing on the hard; cold marble floors.

This is no place for something who has my family's blood running trough their veins, and yet here I am waiting for an audience with the king. More accurately, my father is. God knows why I have been dragged along.

My father, Igneel, insisted I come with him and that this was a great opportunity for me. Opportunity for what? I don't know. A short man, roughly the height of my old man Makarov pushed open the doors.

His grey moustache and ocean blue cloak swaying as he paced towards us. I stood up straight, as did the guards and my father. "The king will see you in just a moment," he announced before heading for a door to my left.

I felt his eyes fall on me before he made the full turn. I let out an anxious sigh as we waited for one of the most important figures in the world to make his appearance. I looked around, pretending to be extremely interested in the paintings.

All the same, some royal garden or masquerade. One caught my eye, it was a picture of a man with a hazelnut brown suit, on his other side was a woman with a ball dress. It had many shades of pink scattered all around it.

They were standing behind a huge wooden chair and someone was sat in it. It was a small girl with chocolate brown eyes and golden hair - which was quite short. She too wore a pink dress and was holding a doll in her hands.

Possible relatives of the king? I heard the doors open and quickly averted my eyes away from the painting. A short man, again. Natsu, pay respect to the king, even in your mind! It was silent as he walked towards us, but once he stopped he started speaking.

"I am delighted to see that you two have made it to my castle safe and sound, " He smiled and I hid my shock - who knew the king of Crocus was actually a nice person? "My name is Toma E. Fiore, glad to make you my acquaintance,"

He held out his hand to Igneel, then me. Seems like I was worried for now reason after all. However, it still doesn't change the fact that a Dragneel should stay far from the castle and its residents.

I had that etched into my mind since the age of five, I doubt I will forget it anytime soon. They used to call us Dragon Slayers back then because of the way our family operated. They ran an underground mafia by the name of Dragon Port.

That's where the name Dragon Slayer came from, it was the cause of many deaths. The Council of Fiore finally took action and Dragon Port took a brutal beat down. It was stated that their blood shall never touch the royal grounds.

And yet here I stand, a Dragneel.

"We are honoured, your majesty," My father bowed and I decided to follow his lead. It's not like I know hot to act in front of the ruler of my kingdom. We stood back up and I noticed a guard who was burning holes into me, oh the joy.

"No need for the formalities," The King smiled and shook his hand, "Please do follow me, I believe we have business to discuss," he finished as he turned around, motioning for us to follow him.

"Hanes, would you kindly show Igneel's son the garden so we do not bore him?" The King glanced over at a guard who was standing by a pair of huge oak doors. I sighed inside, looks like I didn't even have a reason to be here.

"Yes, your highness!" He quickly stood in front of me, "This way please," he showed me and I sauntered behind him. The castle was truly a beautiful place, decorated with carefully drawn patterns and admirable statues.
