A/N: Well, I am thoroughly convinced that nobody reads these anyways so I will just continue on to the story. Hope you enjoy!

My excitement towards my parent’s recent proposal has me so overwhelmed that I practically forgot about my first day of sophomore year. That is, until the next day when I just about fractured my skull against my bed frame, trying to get up.

Upon finally arriving at the school, I suddenly feel a sense of anxiety. Summer was spent, basically carefree, for the most part. It is only now that, the stress suddenly seems to pile up in my brain, like the Froot Loops in Annie’s bowl this morning.

“Have fun at school today!” Mom calls as I close the car door.

“I’ll try.” I say, mostly to myself, while the car speeds away from my view. The air is crisp and the sky seems clear. Any other day, this would not have fail to lighten my mood; but not today. Which I actually think is actually quite pathetic. For this is the first day of my sophomore year, not freshman or senior year. But my hormone filled teenage brain is telling me otherwise.

“Amanda!” I hear a voice approach me, “Drew!” I whip around to face him. “How was your summer?”

Drew chuckles as if I had said something genuinely amusing, and runs his hand through his dark hair. “Fine, I guess. How was yours?”

“It proved to be reasonably well,” I smile and take his hand into mine; “I missed you a lot, though.” Drew smiles back and squeezes my hand like the cliché boyfriend that he is, “I know. It must have sucked without me.” I roll my eyes, “You know, you aren’t that big of a deal.”

“Oh, I’m not?” Drew draws our interlocked hands into the air, “Because I would beg to differ.”

I scoff and fling his hand away from mine, jokingly. “Please. I was completely oblivious of your absence this whole summer”

“That’s not what you said 2 minutes ago.”

                “You suck.”
