I was sitting in my small house in the woods when it happened again. My nose started bleeding. My black blood dropped onto my sweater as i called out for my mother.
"Mama? Can you come here?" I yelled
My mother walks in from outside. She is clearly agitated with me, "Mya!" She whispers, "You can't talk that loud! If one of the scouts hear you...."
"I know. They will take me and kill you. I understand!"
"I don't think you do." She notices my nose, "oh my god let me get that cleaned up for you–" she is interrupted by three blows of a horn coming from outside. "you know what. You are 17. You can clean yourself up. I must go"
"mom what's wrong?"
"nothing. Just get in the hole."
"mom why?"
"Maunon." She grabs her sword and goes outside. I would never see my mother again.
