From the tree I was hiding behind I could see and hear them clearly.

They were acting like two little annoying fangirls deliberately asking Chase a whole bunch of questions and of course he had no choice but to feed into it the perfect distraction to get Cameron's attention.

Rita glanced at me I nodded again and she suddenly grabbed Chase's arm "hey Chasey teach me how to do one free throw" I heard her ask "come on please just one." 

"It'll be fun" Tasha said grabbing Chase's other arm "let's go" as they walked further down the court

"Yes," I squealed now was my chance Cameron was alone as I walked up to him he smiled "Hey Jade."

"Hey yourself I saw you out there,you're not half bad" I teased

He smiled cockily "well I told you I had some skills you have never seen," he said wiggling his hands 

I rolled my eyes" well your little skills is not going to save you from mama , if we don't hurry up and go home."

I grabbed his hand to walk but he stopped in his tracks 

"Wait Jade Chase has my ball let me go get it from him" 

Uh oh

Before I could stop him

He started calling Chase over

Chase looked up from he talking to Rita and his eyes landed on me.

I'm so glad  I only had one brother

The way those two were laughing and carrying on I don't think I could take it

For the millionth time I looked back behind me and yelled at Chase and Cameron to walk up seriously they were worse than girls.

We finally reached my house I turned to look at Chase who was still following in suite.

"Shouldn't you be getting back home?" I asked

"Yeah but I wanted to explain to your mom real quick why Cameron's late it's my fault" he admitted "I was teaching him a few things and then we started a game. We got so caught up that we didn't notice the time" he explained

Cameron unlocked the door with his keys as him and Chase both went inside.

I stayed outside baffled at yet another side of Chase that I never seen that was so nice and "brotherly" of him. I looked up at the sky there was not a star in sight. My father used to say that one day he would take me out somewhere where there be nothing to stop me from seeing the stars I was really starting to-

The door opened "okay thank you Mrs.Peters" Chase said behind him as he stepped out closing the door.

He smiled when he saw me "how sweet you decided to wait out for me" he said teasingly

I shooked my head "I really just can't with you right now" I said

"Well can you walk me to my car I parked it next door, "he said walking past me not giving me a chance to answer

"So demanding" I mumbled as I followed

When we reached the house he turned to face me"your brother is really cool it was fun hanging with him."

"Thanks" I said, "he seemed really happy out there."

He nodded "yeah well he has a lot of talent and potential if he just gets trained on a few things he'll be able to make the team at his school, besides I always wanted a little brother."

"Oh yeah well that one is taken," I said with a surge of pride

"Oh here's your jacket," I said handing it to him "before I forget you left it on the court with Rita"

"I will never hold it again" I shuddered "its all sweaty and stuff I bet you're worse" I commented 

"Oh really?" he said with raised eyebrows

He grabbed my hand and pulled me into a bear hug "how's this?" he said

Engulfing me into his chest I started pushing him away.

"Ewww get off of me this is so nasty."

He hugged tighter  "Dude I can't breathe" I gasped against his chest

"Nope not until you say this" he whispered it in my ear

I pushed more frantically "uh uh I'm not saying that"

"Fine then I guess you're stuck here" he started swinging around taking me along with him

"ok ok ok" I said in surrender "I don't take showers"

"What I can't hear you?" he said loudly

I bit him in reply on his arm

"Ouch" he immediately released me "you damn monkey" he yelled rubbing his arm.

I laughed in response as he grabbed me and then he started to laugh too.

"Ok fine you got me" he stopped laughing and look down at me then, I stopped laughing and the realization of how close we were sunk in my mind.

I guess it sunked in his mind also because the expression on his face changed.

In response to the change of atmosphere, I took a step back as he took one forward directly in front me. For a sweaty person, he sure smelled nice I involuntarily looked up.

Big mistake.

His hands cupped the sides of my face.

I tried to gaze away and force my face away from his but he held on and leaned in and kissed me.
