It had been just under two months since Dan had moved to Phil's school, and just over a month since he'd been experiencing the tickling and occasional pain in his chest.

Phil still hadn't told his parents about the odd sensations, he didn't think he needed to. Besides, he didn't want to worry his poor mum and dad, considering that they hadn't nearly enough money to pay off the medical bills a check-up would cost. He'd be fine. It was just a little tickle. Nothing more, nothing less.

Dan had spoken to him again after that day in the library, and Phil couldn't have been happier. Even if it was only a simple 'Hi!' or 'Hello!' in the school corridors, Phil was elated that Dan still took the time to at least notice him.

When Dan had plopped himself down in front of him during lunch, however, Phil had allowed himself to take in a small gasp that earning him a tickle-induced cough.

"Goodness, you okay there, mate?" Dan had asked with a lopsidedly dimpled smile, one that Phil had blushed lightly at with a nod and a hoarse 'I'm okay.' That seemed to satisfy the other, considering they'd spent the whole lunch hour talking about things they had in common.
