There was another petal sat on his bed.

The third one in an hour.

It's not like you wouldn't have counted, too, when you had flowers building up inside your lungs like he did.

Phil wasn't a very popular person at school. In fact, he'd even call himself one of the nobodies. He had no special talents (unless you counted being able to make a noise similar to that of a mosquito, but that was more of a 'special' thing to the other kids in school) and he wasn't spectacular in the whole attractive department either.

He was plain as the newly laid pavement he walked to school on every day.

He hadn't many friends, either. Well, perhaps he'd consider the school's librarian his friend, but he didn't think she'd consider him one back rather than a nuisance that simply wasted her time with signing out books.

But, that was okay with Phil. He wasn't lonely or depressed or anything of that sort. No, not at all. He was quite happy being on his own with no one to really bother him or interrupt his time reading.

Until he moved into town.
