Whether you have these conditions or not, you need to be getting about 8 hours of sleep a night. However, this should be an average. Unfortunately, are busy daily lives won't always give us that perfect number. Here are some tips to make this average happen.

Have a sleep journal! This will be great to analyze yourself and with a counselor if you have one. Set up your page like this

Date:

Location:

Time you went to sleep:

Time you woke up:

Total hours of sleep:

Did you need to use an alarm today? (Yes or No)

Did you dream? (Yes or No)

If yes, describe your dream: *Note you can also illustrate your dream if that is easier!

Establish a routine. Here is a sample routine I use.

- Shower (If you shower at night. It is relaxing so give it a try!)

- Brush Teeth

- Comb Hair

- Take Medications

- 20 - 30 min of Free Time (Read, Pray/Meditate, Check up on Social Media)

- Sleep

Avoid these foods before bed

- Caffeine

- Greasy Foods

- Sugary Desserts

Good Luck!
