Sofia awoke after a peaceful nap of few hours. She had not been able to have a tranquil nap for past four days and now when she did, she didn't want to get up from the bed. Removing the covers from her face, Sofia let out a yawn and rubbed her eyes like a kitten. She started going through the horrifying affairs of last few days and blew out a breath. Thank God she was out of the place.

Last night she had been too tired to argue or ask anymore questions or even go to the depth of thinking but now when she was awake and tiredness had faded, she couldn't help but actually ponder about things that had happened. She was still not sure why she couldn't fully believe her mother and the second thing, the Salah bomb that had fallen over her head last night.

Sofia rubbed a hand down her face and switched on the light in her room. The room enlightened and after a few minutes there was a knock on her door. She sighed and hummed telling the person that she was awake. Xander entered her room and closed the door behind him.

Sofia sat straight in the bed upon seeing him and glanced at the clock on the wall in front of her. Wait, it was five in the morning so what was he doing here? She looked at his disheveled form and frowned, he looked so tired.

"Hi." She mumbled. Xander sat on the bed besides her and ran his fingers through his hair. Sofia leaned forward and placed her hands on his shoulder, gently squeezing it. "Are you okay?" She asked getting concerned. Had he not gone home?

"Yes. Just... tired." Even his voice sounded so tired.

"How did you get in? Nobody's up at this hour."

"Salaar was awake." He shrugged.

"Why didn't you sleep?" She asked. Xander breathed heavily and shook his head at her. "Come on you can sleep here. We have plenty of time." She urged, tugging on his arm. He didn't protest too much and turned to her. "Are you worried about something Xander?" She asked, running her fingers on his forehead in order to move away his wild hair. Xander closed his eyes feeling contented and rested his head on her lap. Sofia subconsciously ran her fingers over his scalp.

"Yes." He nodded and Sofia was surprised that he didn't deny it. Usually he kept his worries to himself because he didn't want to worry her too.

"What happened?" She asked softly. Xander sighed and nuzzled his face on the warm covers that were on Sofia's lap. When he didn't answer she decided not to push him too far. "You should rest here." She squirmed indicating that she wanted to get out of the bed to make space for him. Her bed was made for a single person and couldn't fit both of them.

Xander's tired eyes opened slowly and he lifted his head, not protesting thankfully. Sofia slipped out of the bed and removed his shoes before putting his feet under the covers. She covered him and he already seemed to be asleep. Snuggling in to her pink duvet, he turned his back to her and fisted the blanket with his hands.

"Oh my..." Sofia gasped and grabbed his right hand that had blue bruises and red fresh cuts on the knuckles. Xander's breathing had already turned even as he slept peacefully like he had no care in the world. Sofia's eyebrows creased together in worry as she ran her fingers over the cuts. His hand twitched as if he was in pain making her worry even more. Did he hurt someone? What if he went back to Alexie and...

Oh no!

Albeit him being asleep Sofia's worry won over her affection and she gently but urgently shook his shoulder. She leaned over his body on her knees and looked at his face for any signs of injury.

"Xander?" She called tapping his shoulder. He stirred and his eyes slowly opened as he stared at her, blinking repeatedly.

"Is it already morning?" He croaked. Sofia cluck her tongue and shook her head. She sat back and grasped his hand before lifting it to his sight.
