#8~ Kili

PROMPT: a romantic and fluff/cute Kili imagine.

Excluding the fact that a nudge match between Kili and you had ended in you almost falling off the side of a steep drop off, the day had been pretty good. The sky kept the lingering blue while the last traces of day faded away and took with it a relatively peaceful day. The fresh smell of damp grass hit your nose while you laid cuddled up to Kili's side by the contained fire. He would whisper a joke in your ear every so often and make you giggle. The others watched you both with quizzical expressions.

These were the nights that you cherished, where Kili and you could just rest by the fire and just be together. Things were different with the quest and all of the new activity, but those things were only minor when you compared them to the happiness that you felt when you were sitting there with him. You could feel the tenderness of his love through the way he held you close, yet gently as if, if he were to hold you any tighter, you'd break in his arms. Above all, you felt safe and content.

''Today was a good day,'' he sighed, the very thing you had just been thinking, ''No attacks, no running, and I won our little shove fight.''

''Only because you almost pushed me over the edge of the drop off!'' you pointed out with a laugh, ''And then Thorin got all grumpy and said we had to stop.''

Kili smiled down at you after glancing at his amused looking uncle, ''Oh please, I wouldn't have let you fall to your death.''

''No?'' you smiled.

''No,'' he nodded with the simple word before continuing, ''I mean, I wouldn't want us to lose our cook, now would I?'' You smacked his arm playfully after the comment and the whole company laughed.

''Oh please,'' Bofur laughed, ''Hardly any cooking being done when you two are too busy looking at each other dreamily. She completely overcooked the meat the last time because you were distracting her!''

"I cannot help it,'' Kili said with a fond smile resting on his lips while he looked up at the darkening sky and let out a content sigh, ''I must make sure she has not forgotten about me in this company of... attractive men.''

''Ay!'' they all called out in defense but it was soon met with laughs of dismissal and agreement.

''I could never forget about you,'' you giggled and leaned up to peck his lips quickly while the company groaned in protest.

''Get a room!''
