I start thinking back to the beginning of my and Lucas' journey. Our first date. The cliff.
––flashback––
"Wer're here." He turns off the engine.
When I look out of the window, I see a cliff.
He's gonna kill me. I knew it.
––end of flashback––
I shake my head, smiling lightly for myself. I remember that night as if it was last night. The beautiful view of New York. The three rocks that looked like a table with two chairs. The toast we made.
––flashback––
He puts down the bottle in the basket again and raises his glass. "A toast perhaps?"
I furrow my brows, "A toast for what?"'
"Um..." he thinks for a while before clicking his fingers. "A toast for our first date."
––end of flashback––
I shake my head once again, thinking back to that night. Back then I would just say it was a good night and hate myself for admiting it.
But now? Now I can admit that that night was one of the most amazing nights of my life. The first being the night we danced on the parking lot outside the beautiful building that means so much for Lucas.
If I had to count up all of the times me and Lucas have spend a night together without fighting, it'd be a short list, but it would also put a smile on my face.
To come this far with the biggest playboy and bad boy of our school wasn't what I would've expected one month ago. I would snort and wave my hand dissmissively and say 'That's never going to happen.', little did I know it did.
Because here I am, sitting in his blue jeep outside a big, empty field, at 8:40 PM.
I hear a knock on my window and I jolt up in my seat, surprised and a little terrified. I look outside to see Lucas standing outside my door, waiting patiently for me to open it and step outside.
I shake my head, eyes wide. "No."
He gives me a surprised yet offended look, placing his hand on his chest. "Excuse me?" his voice wasn't as loud since the glass was cutting through.
I shake my head, "No."
He looks around, baffled. "No, what?"
"I'm not stepping out of this vehicle, Lucas." My tone held seriousness and so did my eyes, hopefully.
His mouth hung open and his eyebrows were furrowed in utter confusion. "Riley, step outside."
I once again shake my head, "No."
"Why are you being so stubborn?"
I send him a glare, "Oh, I'm sorry my boyfriend wants me to step out of his car so that he can feel like the man he thinks he is."
He was offended by my remark, but yet he still smiled shyly.
I furrow my brows at his small grin. "Why are you smiling?"
He shrugs, scratching his neck, "You called me your boyfriend."
Is he serious? "You've called me your girlfriend, so what?"
He shrugs and gives me a glare, "Oh, I'm sorry Miss. Independant, I just felt good hearing my sweet girlfriend with a short temper call me her boyfriend."
