I deeply wounded her, and  I realized I had no right to do it. She devoted herself to loving me, yet I, foolishly, brought tears to her eyes. I swear, I never took her for granted. It's just that...

A few weeks ago...

Halos magtatatlong araw na silang hindi nag-iimikan ni Lara dahil sa hindi niya kayang pigilang pagkabugnot lalo na kapag mayroon siyang buwanang dalaw. Sa totoo lang ay pinakaayaw niyang nangyayari ang bagay na iyon sapagkat marami siyang napagbubuntunan ng init ng ulo. Kaya kahit na hindi niya gustong madamay si Lara, nagawa na niya.

Subalit tapos na sana ang topak niya at nakahanda na siyang suyuin ang kasintahan kung hindi lamang niya nadatnang magulo ang mga papeles sa kanyang mesa. Halatang may nakialam sa mga gamit niya. Kinabahan siya nang unang pumasok sa isip na baka may partikular na pakay ang taong iyon at may ideya na siya kung ano.

Hindi siya magkandaugaga habang binubuksan ang drawer para kumpirmahin kung naroroon pa ba ang iniingatang papeles. Lalong lumakas ang kabog ng kanyang dibdib nang mapagtantong wala na roon ang nasabing papeles.

Nawawala ang kontrata nila ni Lara!

Nagsisisi siya kung bakit hindi pa niya iyon sinunog matapos na maging tunay na ang relasyon nila. Ngayon tuloy ay problema pa lalo na kung mapupunta iyon sa taong sisira ng kanilang magandang pagsasama.

"Oh, what happened here? Arqui?"

There's no need for her to turn her head; the annoying voice alone serves as ample confirmation that she recognizes her. The clicking of stilettos announces her arrival as she strides into the room.

"Arqui, ano ba'ng hinahanap mo?" Muli nitong tanong.

That's when she allows her irritated expression to become visible.  "I'm pretty sure, somebody who's nosy enough stole something here." She asserts, emphasizing every word.

Certainly, a hunch begins to form, pointing towards Shakira's possible involvement.

It took no time at all for Shakira to validate her suspicion when she raised the folder she was looking for. "Oh, this?" She said, her voice dripping with evident mockery

I knew it. She seethes inwardly as her eyes squint in anger.

Advancing with purpose, she aims to retrieve the contract from Shakira's hand. Yet, Shakira deftly sidesteps to keep the document out of reach.

"Not so fast, baby."

"Give me that, Shakira. I don't need any more reasons to be grumpy," she warned.

"Why oh, why? Are you going to hurt me, baby?"

Shakira's actions are a true test of her patience; she slyly snakes her arm around her shoulders, a gesture that comes with an undertone of seduction.

She tries dodging her but Shakira tightens her embrace even more.

"It's a shame, Arqui. Hindi ko inaasahang gagawa talaga kayo ng ganito para lang pagselosin ako. I really appreciate your effort, anyway. Okay, you win. Let's get back together, baby." Shakira with a captivating tone while delicately tracing her face.

As discomfort sets in, she gradually pushes her to distance herself. Shakira has a habit of doing things her way, and at the moment, she's leveraging the contract to her advantage.

"Shakira, you don't understand. W—"

"What else that I don't understand? Malinaw na malinaw dito sa kontrata niyo na hindi totoo ang relasyon niyo. Isang paraan para pagselosin ako at para layuan na kita! Well, I have bad news for you, Arqui. You know that I can't be a loser. At alam na alam mo rin kung gaano ko gustong makipagbalikan sa'yo."
