This isn't going to be a "Dear white people" type of chapter, more like a discussion.

I completely understand why people are upset by the commercial.

Even MLK's daughter was offended.

From what I know, we  are offended because it trivializes the concept of protests, and it makes it seem like it's no big deal, and that a can of soda (very, very, VERY unhealthy soda 💀) can fix the problem.

Well, here's a thought.

Pepsi twitter account posted a tweet saying, "Pepsi was trying to project a global message of unity, peace and understanding. Clearly, we missed the mark and apologize. We are pulling the content and halting any further rollout. We also apologize for putting Kendall Jenner in this position."

Maybe... this commercial wasn't so bad.

Now, I've asked a few freinds what they thought about the commercial and here is what they said:

"She has NEVER once spoken out about important political issues & she didn't even attend a women's march. It would've been okay if they picked someone who is actually active in those kinds of things. ya know ?"
-my very white, very loving freind Emmalee

"I find it disrespectful that not only did they downplay the effects of protests they used it as a way to bring in money for their company instead of speaking on it as a way to speak out against hate. Also Pepsi had the audacity to say sorry for putting Kendall in that position instead of the people who do protest, who do fight,  who are affected, they said sorry to a millionaire who doesn't gaf about anything regarding political issues" - my baby from England, Raven

I think that everyone is upset by the fact that

#1. It paints the picture that Pepsi will
solve  police brutality
And
#2. They apologized to Kendall for the effects of the commercial. In the next chapter I will explain my thoughts. And, if you would like for your argument to be put in the next chapter, message me, and I will include probably include it and probably critique and share my opinion on it.

Btw thank you guys for all of your support and votes and comments. The success of this book has given me confidence and a reason to feel like a part of something <3 I love you guys.
