dinner.

the students and staff busily buzzed around the area, preparing the food, grilling meat and grabbing logs from the storage. while jooyoung and sunhee had been assigned to help out with keeping the campfire going, the latter was too busy whining about how annoying the job was.

"why do we have to pick up those heavy logs instead of cooking with the other girls? this is total discrimination!" sunhee huffed, picking up the chopped logs.

"it's because the kitchen's too full," the short-haired girl replied. "plus, this is our last batch. mr. seon said we can go rest after this."

"but joo!" she whined. "this isn't how it's supposed to go. it's a trip that can revive the blossoming desires in our youth!" sunhee blushed lightly. "you know, gossiping with the other girls, secretly sneaking out to meet the other boysㅡ how exciting!" she squealed, earning an amused look from her friend.

"alright, why don't we just take these all back and have a cup of cocoa? i think your delusions are getting the best of you."

"it's not a delusion, it's a fantasy," sunhee pouted before eagerly inching towards the girl. "jooyoung, tell me. what's the most beautiful moment in life for you?" she asked the girl in anticipation.

the latter blinked at her question. hearing the girl ask such a philosophical-like question was outlandish- something she wasn't really used to hearing.

"well, hopefully it'll be when i graduate and get my diploma," she slowly replied, eyeing the girl. "and what do you think it'll be for you?"

with a lick of her tinted lips, sunhee shyly fiddled with the hem of her coat before mumbling, "love."

and then jooyoung saw it, the gleam in her eyes as she uttered the word. it wasn't always that she'd notice her friend's desires in romance, knowing sunhee would be ogling over at any man whom she found attractive. she'd be infatuated with them for a short moment before moving on to another one she discovered. although sunhee might seem that way, she was also very serious about finding her own princeㅡ one that would sweep her off her feet.

"love?" the short-haired girl repeated, earning a shy nod from the girl.

"one day, i'll find him," she chuckled. "someday."

"don't you guys find heebin cute?"

here they go again.

from their cabin's group, yoongi's roomies namjoon, shiwoo, and hangyeol were chattering up again while tending the fire from going out in the cold weather. it wasn't a surprise to hear them talk about girls at their age, knowing they're at the time when they feel something about the opposite gender. puberty changed them and pricked quite harshly when not suppressedㅡ much like these boys who couldn't help but stare at their female classmates.

"she's not too bad, but the cute type's not really my thing," hangyeol shrugged. "what about jangmi? the girl's got the thighs."

shiwoo's face crumpled in disgust. "shit, she has the same name as my mom, dude! there's no way i'm going for her."

"that's kind of wrong," namjoon piped up.

yoongi could only stare at them indifferently, although his eyes told a different story. he knew being roomed up with these perverts were nothing but a bunch of headache. namjoon wasn't as bad as the other two, but he knew his friend had some desires of his own. that was nothing bad, but getting lumped up in the same room as the other two was a big mistake on the teacher's part.

"what about you, yoongi?" shiwoo queried with a grin. "which girl's got your eye, huh?"

the said boy poked a stick on the fire and glanced at them. "like hell i got one."

"oh, come on," hangyeol urged. "you mean to tell me the concept of love never entered your mind?"

sure it did. many times.

but he didn't want to call it that. it sounded too cheesy for him but inevitably, he felt the emotions for it. like when he liked that one noona when he was in elementary for giving him a popsicle during a hot summer day. yoongi honestly did feel something jittery in his stomach, but that was crushed when that noona actually had someone else. man, was his heart butchered to pieces.

although that didn't matter. someone else popped in his mind right then. that short haired girl that always carried around a warm can of green tea and poked him with itㅡ yoongi couldn't help but let the corner of his lips curve up for a short second before letting it go flat again. it was almost comical how he found someone who didn't have such a shitty personality as him.

she told him that he wasn't that bad.

"... and if i ever have someone in mind," he gulped down the contents of the now empty green tea can. "there's no way i'm telling you dirtbags."

that was his secret and his alone.
