Chapter 12~ Dress Shopping.

"What's this I hear about you skipping first period?!" My mom shouts as I shut the front door. I wince at her tone.

"Hey mom," I say and she glares at me. "I uh, I didn't skip." I say more confident.

"Really? Then why did I get a call from your school saying you did?" She places her hands on her hips and scoffs.

You're done for. Adira snorts.

"I technically did not skip! The teacher let us go outside and talk and the bell rang. We lost track of time but we were still on school grounds!" I argue.

"Who's 'us'?" She questions and crosses her arms.

"Nicholas and I." I hang my head.

"What were you two talking about?" She clicks her tongue.

"He got a little jealous that I had a baby with someone else." I mumble.

Oh so you want to be murdered? Adira sighs.

"WHAT?!" She shouts.

"NO! I mean it's a project!" I explain.

"Oh." She lets out a breath.

"We had to pick partners and raise a fake baby together. I chose the guy next to me, James, because it looked like he had already said yes to someone. There were a lot of girls asking him and guys asking me." I say and she nods.

"So how did the teacher excuse you?"

"Nicholas just asked him." I shrug.

"Oh, weird." She yawns and walks up the steps. I was left confused but I'm okay because she's not yelling at me anymore.

"What was all the yelling about?" Sarai asks and Daniela yawns behind her.

"I skipped first period apparently. Which is not true." I huff.

"Tell momma all about it." Daniela jokes and pats her lap. I take a seat on her lap and explain everything to both of them, everything.

"He fingered you!" Sarai shouts and I smack her arm. Daniela breaks into a fit of giggles and I'm sure my face is a bright red.

"Who fingered who?" Gabe asks as he walks in looking pissed.

Your stupidity never fails to amaze me! Adira shouts at me so I block her out.

"What?!" Wes yells.

"Nothing!" The girls and I shout.

"We will find out and when we do, it won't be pretty." They both leave the room being the drama queens they were born as.

"Let's go shopping? There's a dance next week!" Daniela suggests and pouts her lips in hope.

"Fine." I sigh.

"I'm in." Sarai shrugs.

"Squad meet up in fifteen!" Daniela announces and we all scurry into our rooms to get ready. I decide to stay in the same clothes but add a jacket on top because it's chilly out. I also touch up my makeup.

"Are you ready?" Sarai asks as she knocks. I quickly spray on some perfume and grab my purse.

"Ready." I smile as I open the door.

We go in Daniela's Range Rover and sing along to my playlist.

"Let's go to Victoria's Secret first!" Dani squeals. She prefers Dani but I still call her Daniela.

"Yes, Mel needs lingerie for her mate!" Sarai nudges me and I smack her arm. I can feel the heat climbing up my neck.

"Shut up." I mumble.
