Post gig depression

As music enthusiasts, we live for the weekend

for the excitement, the thrill, the songs

for being crushed amongst thousands of people

all of which in unison scream along

We love nothing more than live music in concert

but with steep ticket prices, we face an oppression

and then there's also the issue of exhaustion

and what's commonly known as post gig depression

It's a genuine disease

that millions of teenagers have secured

for after being feet away from your favourite band

the mundane every day just makes you bored

After nearly passing out from dehydration

but staying glued to your feet just to hear the encore

school and work and normal conversation

leave you pining for something more

Queuing for lunch is nothing like outside a venue

school corridors don't much resemble mosh pits

and when you've witnessed one spectacle, you crave another

so it's impossble to call it quits

For me, the cycle started two years ago

and I've finally discovered the cure

which is to accept that there's no cure at all

and that the only right amount of gigs, is more.
