Alexandra's POV

I stretched as I woke up, honestly I felt a lot better, but I would never tell anyone that. Once I got up I changed my clothes and started to walk to the infirmary, but Alexander was standing in front of the door.

"Good morning Alexander," I greeted as I tried to get past him, but he grabbed my arm.

"You need to see her," he said.

"Her?" I asked.

"Our mother," he replied.

"I need to check on Aaron and Elliot," I said.

"No, you need to see her," he replied. "Either you do that or I will not let you down there." I pushed past him and went down anyway. Aaron was lying down asleep, but he woke up when he heard my footsteps.

"Do not even think about sitting up right now," I said.

"Fine," he replied.

"Aaron, your last name is Smith, right?" I asked.

"Yes," he replied.

"And you said you were a noble that day you were at my house right?" I asked.

"Yes," he replied barely above a whisper.

"I know your family," I stated.

"What?" he asked as he sat up quickly, but he touched his head and groaned as he laid back down.

"I spent a lot of time in Court when I was a child before I studied medicine and got serious about fighting. I knew your family quite well and even spent a summer there," I replied.

"With my family?" he asked.

"Yes. Your siblings are quite nice."

"Siblings? I only have a younger brother."

"Then your mother must have had the twins after you left."

"Twins?"

"Cassandra and Christian, both are really nice."

"I did not know."

"Then perhaps I should not have mentioned it."

"No it is alright," he replied and then Alexander came in.

"Alexandra, now," he said. I took a deep breath and turned around, I went to my mother's room and knocked.

"Who is there?" she asked.

"Me," I said loudly.

"Come in," she replied. I opened the door, walked in, and closed it behind me. She motioned for me to sit in the chair in front of her. "I heard that you have been here for a week already."

"I have been with Aaron and Elliot," I replied as I sat down.

"I see," she said. "Alexandra, I would like to thank you."

"For what?"

"For sending that nice man to come and rescue me, I heard that Richard was still alive and that he was using me against you."

"We do not see eye to eye, but you are still my mother."

"You were so brave and strong for that year."

"Thank you."

"But I hope that you will realize how dangerous this life is here and I pray that you will return home with me."

"I am not doing that."

"What?"

"Mother, even though this life is dangerous I love it. I love being able to do something with my life, I am happy here with these men. Yes, they are not always the most civilized, but they are good people. I am not ready to leave and marry."
