Chapter Eighteen

Today was the day Reann would set off with Gloin, Gimli, and the other two dwarves to the council of Elrond. The past ten days have been the worse sickness fell on the remaining dwarves from Thorin Oakenshields company. Throughout the ten days each person had passed away there were funerals, and it seems Reann and Gloin were the last ones left, unless Balin, Oin, and Ori were alive. A messenger from the Blue Mountains had come saying the Nori had too died from a sickness.

Reann had to witness some of them dying though. Bofur passing away with a smile on his face. They were all buried next to Kili, Fili, and Thorin though and Nori's body was brought back to be placed there as well. Reann was at the gate ready to leave she just had to say goodbye to her sons since this may be the last time she shall see them.

"Come now my sons for it is time for my departure." Reann told her sons hugging them

"Mom please don't go." Kili begged clinging to her

"Do not fret amralime I shall be fine I'll just be going on a journey to make sure that you guy are safe. Remember to use manners and keep studying while I'm gone, if I do not return I know Gloin, and Gimli will, and they shall look after you with their life." She told him hugging and kissing their heads

"What does amralime mean mom." Fili asked curious

"My love, you father used to call me that all the time and I didn't even know what it meant until he came to me in a dream and told me. Now I bare a gift for you both." She said pulling out three pieces of a stone

"This was your fathers I found it on the ground. I cut it into three pieces last night so we all get a piece and will always be together and connected." Reann told them putting it in their hands

She herseld was trying to hold back tears she was leaving her sons knowing she won't be back from this journey she can feel it in her. She let them go and walked towards Gimli, Gloin, and the dwarven guards. Her sons walked back to the gates by Dain who smiled sadly at her. He already said goodbye to her as well. She walked by the others and they left the gates of Erebor and on their journey to Rivendale.

Wearing Kili's old coat that Dis brought with her along with wearing the ring she gave him, and Fili's old cuffs. She rode quietly as the others talked about old days. She was too caught in her head thinking of all her fallen kin.

"Stop it you've had plenty." Bofur scolded as me and Bombour tried to get more soup

"You've done so much for us Reann." Dori thanking me after everyon fell asleep

"Now that I'm back to english there's so much I had to say but couldn't...." Bifur grinning talking with me basically the whole night after the battle

"This elvish bread is really good I've had about twenty so far." Bombour stuffing his face me smiling at him then having a small eating competition. Though the next day when we had to walk our stomach's ached

"Reann are you alright laddie." Gimli asked Reann bringing her back to reality

"I'm fine just thinking back to the good memories what are you guys talking about?" She asked him

"We're also talking about memories from the battle we just started you guys were the Shire I believe." He told her

"Ah yes I remember exactly Bilbo was furious when he opened the door and a group of dwarves all fell on his floor." Reann laughed at that memory Gloin, and Gimli joining it along with the dwarven guards

Finally reaching Rivendell the next morning meeting some elves one who Reann recognized

"Lindir its been too long." She smiled hugging him

"I know mellon the meeting is about to begin in a few minutes I'll have someone take your ponies, and I'll show you where the meeting is." He told her
