CHAPTER 1

 

“Get out of my face.”

“E-Excuse me?”

“Uh, didn’t you understand a word I said?”

With just a snap of fingers, two broad men with dark shades came inside the room and grabbed the shaking man by the arm. The man writhe about and began to flail his arms trying to get away but sadly, the grip was too tight.

“P-Please, Ms Min-ah! Please give me another chance!”

The said girl just innocently smiled as she cocked her head to the side. “Too bad.” She waved her hand, mocking him goodbye and stopped when the doors closed shut.

Kim Min-ah is the daughter of Mr Kim Jung Doo, who owns one of the top companies in Korea. She’s got the looks of an angel but has an attitude of a devil. She is very picky and points every little thing that is wrong in you. She’s bossy, spoiled and hard-headed. Because of that, every staff in their house seldom lasts long.

Though she can be like that, she’s actually a caring girl in the inside just wanting to be noticed by her father. Ever since her mother died, her father never spared her a glance and continued to drown himself with work. Since then, Min-ah decided that she’ll do whatever it takes just for her to get noticed by her dad.

But as always, it failed.

”And there goes our butler.” Min-ah rolled her eyes upon hearing the familiar voice entering the room. “You know, karma will get you someday.”

“Then let it get me if it wants to. I’m not stopping it.” She raises her hands in mock surrender and walk towards the window to take a look at the still shouting ex-butler, who’s been flailing non-stop between two bodyguards. Her lips twitched into a smirk before closing the curtains.

Kim ‘Suho’ Joon-Myeon, her big brother that is older than her in a year, shook his head and sighed. “Sometimes I wonder if I’m related to you.”

“Shut up.” She hissed.

Suho can make anyone like him with just a simple sentence and a breath-taking smile. He’s friendly, optimistic, smart and handsome. No wonder all of the girls in their school formed a fan club for him. They even treat him like he’s some Greek god or something. That made Min-ah wince at the sudden memory of a girl making out with his brother’s middle school graduation picture.

“Dad’s going to send another butler, you know.”

She once again rolled her eyes and leaned against the object behind her, which is the bookshelf. “I don’t want another butler.” She closed her eyes for a moment and slowly opened it. “I want Dad to come home.”

Suho sighs, placing his hands behind him as he approach his sister. “You know how busy he is at work.”

She scoffed. “You’re lucky you get to meet him once a week. He wouldn’t even look me in the eye.”

He looked away and bit his lower lip. It wouldn’t be that hard if it wasn’t for her being a dead ringer of their Mom when she was still in her teens. They were all sad when they lost her, but their Dad took it the hard. For a month, he locked himself in their room. And when he finally walked out of it, he wasn’t the same as before.

Suho felt the atmosphere getting thicker so he quickly changed the topic with a smile on his face. “That reminds me, how’s the date you had with Chanyeol last night?”

“Oh him?” Min-ah raised her brows and slowly nodded. “He’s cute.”

“Think he’s the one?” Suho wiggled his brows suggestively.

Min-ah just smiled. “Maybe or maybe not.” That made the brother roll his eyes.

“That’s the same thing you said when you had that date with Kris.”

“For starters, they’re both cute, charming and very comfortable to be with.” Then she furrowed her brows and raised an eyebrow. “But then there’s also this fact that they’re rich and that Dad just wants me to marry one of the guys he sets me up with just for the benefits of the company.”

“But if Dad didn’t set you up with anybody, what type of guy do you think you’ll end up falling in love with?”

Min-ah rolled her eyes at her brother’s question and giggled. “I don’t know. Maybe someone who looks good in pink hair?”

Suho scoffed. “I don’t think so.”
