( CAAWWWGURRLSS DON'T CRAAYYYYY!)

A small amount of applause went around the room, but quickly died out.

"All right, that was Kim, Veronica and Papaw Louie singing Cowgirls don't cry by Brooks and Dunn featuring Reba." Johnny, Good Ole' Trucking Food's owner, was announcing in a very thick southern accent.

"You know I once went on a date with Reba, yes sir, when she was younger and not making billions of dollars!" Jonny went on getting a laugh out of the crowd. Which was a lot since the place was packed.

"Well that does describe our next act.."

Tara took in a few deep breaths and chugged what was left in her water bottle. Aeron and her were next and she was very confident in their song choice, just a little depressed that her Aeron had spent over a week practicing and he hadn't made a single move. It was driving her crazy! Really making her have to hurt a little for something that usually comes easy to her... Affection, love, etc.

"Mr. Aeron Smith and Miss Tara Davis!" Jonny introduces us.

Tara smiles at Aeron and he gives her a quick nod before heading out onto the stage.

The music starts as she walks to the middle of the small stage.

Aeron took his place on a wooden stool on the left side of the stage. He began to sing his part as he strummed his guitar.

I'm still alive but I'm barely breathing

Just prayed to a God that I don't believe in

'Cause I got time while she got freedom

'Cause when a heart breaks, no it don't breakeven

He looked over at Tara.

His best days will be some of my worst

He finally met a girl that's gonna put him first

While I'm wide awake he's no trouble sleeping

'Cause when a heart breaks, no it don't breakeven, even, no

Tara began walking toward the right. Admiring the crowd, she noticed Aeron's step-mother who looked like she wanted to throw her food at Tara. She decided to give her a reason to.

What am I suppose to do

When the best part of me was always you and

What am I suppose to say

When I'm all choked up and you're okay

I'm falling to pieces, yeah

I'm falling to pieces

Aeron began, really trying to do his best, challenging Tara to do the same.

They say bad things happen for a reason

But no wise words gonna stop the bleeding

'Cause she's moved on while I'm still grieving

And when a heart breaks, no it don't breakeven, even, no

Tara smiled, and continued.

What am I gonna do

When the best part of me was always you

And what am I suppose to say

When I'm all choked up and you're okay

I'm falling to pieces, yeah

I'm falling to pieces, yeah

I'm falling to pieces

(One's still in love while the other one's leaving)

I'm falling to pieces

('Cause when a heart breaks, no it don't breakeven)

Tara began to walk towards Aeron, momentum building with every small step.

You got her heart and my heart and none of the pain

You took your suitcase, I took the blame

Now I'm tryna make sense of what little remains, oh

'Cause you left me with no love and no love to my name

Aeron's step mom was clearly hoping nothing more that what was expected should happen, since she was weaving through the crowd.

I'm still alive but I'm barely breathing

Just prayed to a God that I don't believe in

'Cause I got time while he got freedom

'Cause when a heart breaks, no it don't break                                                                                                       No it don't break, no it don't breakeven, no

Tara was now only inches away from  Aeron, who now was out of his stool. She remembered Aeron had said Sarah was adamant about him singing with her. He wasn't even sure she was gonna be there tonight.

What am I gonna do

When the best part of me was always you

And what am I supposed to say

When I'm all choked up and you're okay

I'm falling to pieces, yeah

I'm falling to pieces, yeah

I'm falling to pieces

(One's still in love while the other one's leaving)

I'm falling to pieces

('Cause when a heart breaks, no it don't breakeven)

Oh, it don't breakeven, no

Oh, it don't breakeven, no

Oh, it don't breakeven, no

Tara smiled at him, hearing the crowd loud with cheer. He seemed to be tuning it out since his eyes where on her. He suddenly planted a light kiss on her mouth just before exiting left stage.

Her cheeks must have been fully red, as she turned to the front of the crowd and right into Sarah's face.
